Gary Andrew Stevens (born 30 March 1962) is an English former association football, footballer who played in the Football League for Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth F.C., Portsmouth. He won seven cap (sport), caps for England national football team, England. Playing career Stevens was born in Hillingdon, Middlesex, and attended Thurston Upper School in Suffolk. He joined Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., Brighton & Hove Albion in 1977. Stevens made his debut as a 17-year-old on 15 September 1979, in the Football League First Division, First Division as Brighton won 2–0 at home to Ipswich Town F.C., Ipswich Town, the club which had released him as a schoolboy. Hillingdon
Hillingdon is an area of Uxbridge within the London Borough of Hillingdon, centred 14.2 miles (22.8 km) west of Charing Cross. It was an ancient parish in Middlesex that included the market town of Uxbridge. During the 1920s the civil parish bore a rapid, planned increase in population and housing, and was absorbed by Uxbridge Urban District in 1929. It has formed part of Greater London since 1965. Much of Hillingdon has lasting, albeit minor, administrative effect as the current Hillingdon East ward for electing councillors to Hillingdon London Borough Council. In November 2010, the ward had a recorded population of 12,403.
