Garry Hay (golfer)
Garry Hay (born 7 September 1977 in Irvine, North Ayrshire) is a Scottish former professional footballer, who played in over 300 Scottish Premier League games for Kilmarnock. Club career Hay signed for Kilmarnock in 1995, and made his debut against Rangers on the opening day of the 1999–2000 season. Hay scored two goals in his second game for Kilmarnock against Aberdeen. He started his career mainly as a left midfielder, but eventually moved to a more defensive role. Hay, who has had several stints as Kilmarnock team captain, had a testimonial year during the 2009–10 season. He played in the 2012 Scottish League Cup Final, which Kilmarnock won 1–0 against Celtic. Two months later, Hay extended his contract with Kilmarnock for another season. Hay was released by Kilmarnock in June 2013. The 2012–13 season was the 116th season of competitive football in Scotland. The season began on 28 July 2012, with the start of the Challenge Cup. Transfer deals League competitions Scottish Premier League Rangers' participation in the SPL was dependant upon the successful transfer of their membership share of the League to the new company that had bought the club, which would be decided by a vote of the SPL clubs. Eight clubs publicly declared that they would oppose the membership transfer, which would mean that they could not play in the SPL. The vote took place on 4 July 2012, and Rangers were refused re-entry to the SPL by a 10-1 majority. Dundee, who had finished second in the 2011–12 Scottish First Division, were invited to replace Rangers. The 2011–12 Scottish League Cup was the 66th season of Scotland's second-most prestigious football knockout competition, the Scottish League Cup, also known as the Scottish Communities League Cup for sponsorship reasons. Rugby Park, also known as The BBSP Stadium Rugby Park for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium situated in the Scottish town of Kilmarnock. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap.
