Garry Baverstock
Garry Frederick Baverstock (born 1949) is an Australian Perth-based architect, property developer, author and scientist, specialising in energy efficient building design. He was one of the pioneers of sustainable architecture in Australia, championing passive solar design of buildings and the use of solar energy. Career Beverstock founded Ecotect Architects in 1969. He is a professor and Built Environment Program Manager of the Research Institute of Sustainable Energy at Murdoch University in Perth. Baverstock became president of the International Solar Energy Society in Western Australia after holding the position of Honorary Secretary from 1979–1986. His work is primarily involved with solar energy design and promoting green urbanism. He has designed over 700 solar houses in all climates throughout Australia. Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is the fourth most populous city in Australia and Oceania, with a population of 2.1 million (80% of the state) living in Greater Perth in 2020. Access 31 (call sign ATW-31) was a free-to-air community television station based in Perth, Western Australia which operated between 1999 and 2008 before closing due to insolvency. The station had broadcast on UHF 31 from NEW's television mast at Carmel in the Perth Hills. It was also available at certain times on the Westlink Network, which at the time was broadcast via the Optus Aurora satellite service and some analogue terrestrial repeaters which included the city of Albany. Swanbourne is a western coastal suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Nedlands. It is an affluent, upper middle class residential area with older Federation style homes, many being renovated. The suburb was established in the late 19th century. New housing estates have been built recently through the redevelopment of areas such as the Swanbourne Senior High School, Swanbourne Primary School and Lakeway Drive-In Cinema sites. History Swanbourne was initially called "Osborne", and was renamed in 1921.
