Garrett Whitley (baseball)
Garrett Alan Whitley (born March 13, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder who is a free agent. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays as the 13th selection in the first round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft. Amateur career Whitley attended Niskayuna High School in Niskayuna, New York. As a junior, he batted .474 with two home runs and 25 runs batted in (RBI). As a senior, he hit .356 with three home runs and 13 RBI. Whitley was considered one of the top prospects for the 2015 MLB draft. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the first round, 13th overall, of the draft. He committed to Wake Forest University to play college baseball but signed with the Rays. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). Biloxi Shuckers
The Biloxi Shuckers are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They are located in Biloxi, Mississippi, and are named in reference to the city's oyster industry and seafood heritage. The Shuckers play their home games at MGM Park.
