Karabet "Garo" Hamamcıoğlu (born April 27, 1945 in Istanbul) is a former Turkish people, Turkish Football (soccer), football player of Armenians of Turkey, Armenian descent and current chairman of the sports club Taksim SK in Istanbul, Turkey. Biography Hamamcıoğlu was born in Istanbul. Playing career He began his football career with Taksim SK in 1963. Taksim SK is a football club represented to Armenian community in Istanbul. He played for the team two seasons. He was then conscripted into Turkish Army in 1965. Turkish People
The Turkish people, or simply the Turks ( tr, Türkler), are the world's largest Turkic ethnic group; they speak various dialects of the Turkish language and form a majority in Turkey and Northern Cyprus. Taksim Spor Kulübü is a sports club located in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, Turkey. The football team of the club plays in the Istanbul Super Amateur League. The club was founded in 1940 by mostly members of the Armenian community of Istanbul when Ateş-Güneş, Nor Şişli and Kalespor clubs merged. Sarıyer G
Sarıyer () is the northernmost district of Istanbul, Turkey, on the European side of the city. It consists of the neighbourhoods of Rumelifeneri, Tarabya, Yeniköy, İstinye, Emirgan and Rumelihisarı. Sarıyer also administers the Black Sea coast to the west of the mouth of the Bosphorus, including the neighbourhood of Kilyos. The Armenian genocide was the systematic destruction of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, Armenian people and identity in the Ottoman Empire during World War I.
