Gareth Williams (New Zealand Actor)
Gareth Williams (born 13 July 1984) is a New Zealand born actor of television, film and theatre. He trained for a year with the Auckland Theatre Company at the prestigious Globe Theater in London. He then attained his Bachelor of Performing Arts at Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2006. Williams has since had television roles in Facelift (2007), This Is Not My Life (2009), Legend of the Seeker (2010), as well as some minor feature film roles. He has gained recognition through musical theatre, receiving positive reviews for his role as William Kemmler in the Indian Ink production of The Dentist's Chair. Shannon Huse, reviewer for the New Zealand Herald, wrote "Gareth Williams is suitably cadaver scary as William Kemmler, the ghost of the first man to be executed by electric chair who haunts Albert. ''Spartacus: Gods of the Arena'' is a television miniseries broadcast by American cable TV Starz, as a prequel to '' Spartacus'', which premiered January 21, 2011. The series follows the character Gannicus (Dustin Clare), the first gladiator representing Lentulus Batiatus to become Champion of Capua. Coverband
A cover band (or covers band) is a band that plays songs recorded by someone else, sometimes mimicking the original as accurately as possible, and sometimes re-interpreting or changing the original. These remade songs are known as cover songs. New or unknown bands often find the format marketable for smaller venues, such as pubs, clubs or parks. The bands also perform at private events, for example, weddings and birthday parties, and may be known as a wedding band, party band, function band or band-for-hire. A band whose covers consist mainly of songs that were chart hits is often called a top 40 band. Some bands, however, start as cover bands, then grow to perform original material. Facelift is a half-hour topical comedy show produced for New Zealand's TV One by the Gibson Group. Drawing on The Gibson Group's extensive experience with a wide range of comedy productions, including ''Public Eye'', ''Skitz'', ''Telly Laughs'', ''Newsflash'' and ''The Semisis'', Facelift is a sketch comedy employing live actors in rubber puppet masks. Pulling off the transition from puppet caricatures to human caricatures was a complex and ambitious task. A small group of actors were cast for voice and performance skills. Moulds were then taken of their heads and prosthetic masks created of various New Zealand politicians and celebrities, such as Helen Clark, Don Brash and Kate Hawkesby.
