Gareth Evans (footballer, Born 1967)
Gareth John Evans (born 14 January 1967) is an English football player and coach. He played for Coventry City, Rotherham United, Hibernian, Stoke City, Northampton Town, Partick Thistle, Airdrie and Alloa Athletic. Evans has been the caretaker manager of Hibernian and Livingston, and was head coach of the Scotland women's under-19 national team for four years. Career Evans was born in Coventry and played for his local club Coventry City making ten appearances for the "Sky Blues" in two seasons before dropping down to the Third Division to play for Rotherham United. At Millmoor Evans played 39 times in 1986–87 scoring 11 goals as the "Millers" finished in a mid-table position of 14th however a poor season under John Breckin and Dave . saw Rotherham relegated to the Fourth Division. Gareth Evans (footballer, Born 1981)
Gareth Joseph Evans (born 15 February 1981) is a former professional footballer who played in the Football League as a full back for Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Blackpool. He was forced to retire at the age of 24 because of a longstanding knee injury. Career Evans started his career as a trainee at his hometown club Leeds United. In 1997, he was an unused substitute as a Leeds side including future internationals Jonathan Woodgate, Paul Robinson and Harry Kewell won the FA Youth Cup, and he went on to be capped by England at under-18 level. He made his first-team debut in the Olympic Stadium in Munich, as a substitute in a Champions League qualifier against 1860 Munich in August 2000, but made only one more first-team appearance for Leeds before leaving to join Huddersfield Town on a free transfer in August 2001. Gareth David Evans (born 10 January 1987) is a Welsh retired footballer. Evans is currently an assistant coach for OKC Energy FC in the USL Championship. Career England and Wales Evans is a former Newi Cefn Druids player, who made 31 appearances, 25 as substitute, for the club in the Welsh Premier League during the 2003–04 season. He joined Wrexham in 2004 and signed a professional contract in summer 2006, after initially being told that the club could not afford to give him one. He broke into the first-team in the 2006–07 season, making 14 league and cup appearances. Gareth Charles Evans (born 26 April 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for Radcliffe. He can also play as a midfielder and at right back. Evans began his career as a youth player with both Manchester United and Crewe Alexandra. He went professional in 2006, but struggled to break into the Crewe first team and went on loans to Leigh RMI in 2006, and Alsager Town in 2007, then moved to his hometown club, Macclesfield Town in that same year. He signed for Bradford City in 2009, before he left them to sign for Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United in June 2011. Gareth Lloyd Evans (born 2 November 1952 in Newport) is a former Wales international rugby union player. He played club rugby for Newport RFC as either or a wing or a centre. He made his debut for Wales in February 1977 as a replacement for Gerald Davies against France at the Parc des Princes. Later that year he was selected for the 1977 British Lions tour to New Zealand and played on the wing in the last three internationals against the All Blacks. Early career Born in the town of Hastings (Hawke's Bay) in the north-east of New Zealand to a Zimbabwean mother and a father from Havelock North, Evans attended Napier Boys' High School in the nearby town of Napier, where he played first XV rugby alongside future teammates Brad Weber and Ihaia West. Gareth Evans (born 19 September 1991) is an English retired professional rugby union player. Between 2011 and 2019 played 85 times for Gloucester, and also played for the Ospreys in Wales. He joined Leicester Tigers in August 2021, but retired without featuring in a first team game for the club in November 2021. Club career As a junior, Gareth played for Longleaze School in Royal Wootton Bassett whose team won a National Tag Rugby tournament. Gareth also played for Wootton Bassett FC during his time there. He was picked up for the Gloucester Academy. Gareth Irfon Evans (born 18 April 1986) is a Welsh weightlifter. He has competed in the 62 kg and 69 kg weight categories, and was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics. Early and personal life Evans was born to North Wales parents then resident in Dundee, Scotland, but the family moved back to their home in Holyhead, Anglesey before Evans started his schooling. Evans started weightlifting aged 12, when he joined the local Holyhead Weightlifting Club. A trained painter and decorator, he gave up his job in preparation for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and moved for the preceding year to Headingley, Leeds, to train full-time at the British Weight Lifting High Performance Centre.
