Garbiñe Muguruza
Garbiñe Muguruza Blanco (; born 8 October 1993) is a Spanish-Venezuelan professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 1 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), and a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 10. She has won ten singles titles, including two majors at the 2016 French Open and the 2017 Wimbledon Championships, and the 2021 WTA Finals. With powerful groundstrokes and an aggressive style of play, Muguruza came to prominence by reaching the fourth round at the 2014 Australian Open and beating a former world No. 1, Caroline Wozniacki, en route. She defeated then-world No. 1 Serena Williams in the second round of that year's French Open en route to the quarterfinals. 2019 Wimbledon Championships
The 2019 Wimbledon Championships was a Grand Slam tennis tournament that took place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. The main tournament began on Monday 1 July 2019 and finished on Sunday 14 July 2019. The defending gentlemen's singles champion Novak Djokovic retained his title, while the defending ladies' singles champion Angelique Kerber lost in the second round to Lauren Davis. WTA Premier Tournaments
WTA Premier Tournaments was a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented from the reorganization of the schedule in 2009 until 2020. In 2020, Premier events included: * Four "Premier Mandatory" events in Indian Wells, Miami, Madrid, and Beijing with prize money of $4.5 million. * Five "Premier 5" events in Doha, Rome, Cincinnati, Toronto/Montreal, and Wuhan with prize money of $2 million. * Twelve "Premier" events with prize money of $600,000 to $1,000,000. Maria Sharapova defeated Simona Halep in the final, 6–4, 6–7(5–7), 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2014 French Open. Caroline Wozniacki (; born 11 July 1990) is a Danish former professional tennis player. She was ranked world No. 1 in singles for a total of 71 weeks, including at the end of 2010 and 2011. WTA Rankings
The WTA rankings are the ratings defined by the Women's Tennis Association, introduced in November 1975. Iga Świątek is the current world No. 1. Ranking method The WTA rankings are based on a rolling 52-week, cumulative system. A player's ranking is determined by her results at a maximum of 16 tournaments for singles and 11 for doubles and points are awarded based on how far a player advances in a tournament. The basis for calculating a player's ranking are those tournaments that yield the highest ranking points during the rolling 52-week period with the condition that they must include points from the 4 Grand Slams, the 4 Premier Mandatory tournaments and the WTA Finals. In addition, for Top 20 players, their best two results at Premier 5 tournaments will also count.
