Ganton Street
Ganton Street is a street in central London that runs between Marshall Street and Kingly Street. It is crossed by Carnaby Street, and Newburgh Street joins it on its north side. The street is in a part-pedestrianised area dominated by independent clothing shops and restaurants, and on upper floors, offices, particularly media companies. Ganton Street Westminster 2011
Ganton is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the south side of the Vale of Pickering immediately north of the Yorkshire Wolds. Ganton lies west of the coastal town of Filey, and south-west of Scarborough. It was historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. The village appears in the '' Domesday Book'' and its name is thought to mean 'Galma's farmstead'. Ganton is situated on the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail and Centenary Way, long-distance footpaths. Its most notable landmark is its golf course. Window dressers are retail workers who arrange displays of goods in shop windows or within a shop itself. Such displays are themselves known as "window dressing". They may work for design companies contracted to work for clients or for department stores, independent retailers, airport or hotel shops. Alone or in consultation with product manufacturers or shop managers they artistically design and arrange the displays and may put clothes on mannequins—or use the services of a mannequin dresser—and display the prices on the products. They may hire joiners and lighting engineers to augment their displays. The Kinks

David Vaughan (artist)
David Vaughan (8 May 1944 – 4 December 2003) was a British psychedelic artist who formed the design team Binder, Edwards & Vaughan (BEV), and the father of actress Sadie Frost. He obtained commissions for his psychedelic painted furniture from Princess Margaret, did work for the Beatles in the early 1960s, worked for Expo 67 and Lord John in Carnaby Street, while photographer David Bailey used his work for a series of posters. He was also involved with two events at the Chalk Farm Roundhouse; Jimi Hendrix appeared at one of them on 22 February 1967. Doug Binder
Doug Binder (born 1941) is an England, English artist. His work has varied significantly over his career, and is now focused on oil paintings of the human form. Along with Dudley Edwards and David Vaughan (artist), David Vaughan, he co-founded the design collective BEV in the 1960s. Biography Binder was born in Bradford in 1941, and studied at the Bradford College (England), Bradford College of Art, before moving on to the Royal College of Art in 1961, specialising in painting. He was involved in the London arts scene during the "Swinging Sixties", associated with the nascent pop-psychedelic decor, with The Beatles being among his first customers. Paul McCartney commissioned him to paint his Knight piano. Lord John was a British men's fashion retailer, which opened its first store at 43 Carnaby Street, London, at the corner with Ganton Street, in 1963. The first Lord John boutique was opened by the brothers Warren, Harold and David Gold in Carnaby Street in 1963, and the choice of name led to litigation from John Stephen who already owned several fashion shops in the street. In 1967, the store had a three-storey high giant psychedelic mural on the outside of the building, painted by the then largely unknown pop-art collective Doug Binder, Dudley Edwards and David Vaughan (BEV). Lord John was very popular with mods, and regular customers included the pop groups The Small Faces, The Who, and Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. Stephen Paul Bayley (born 13 October 1951) is a British writer and critic, known particularly for his commentary on architecture and design. He was founding CEO of the Design Museum in London in 1989, and has been a regular architecture, art and design critic for newspapers such as '' The Listener'', ''The Observer'' and ''The Spectator''.
