John English (director)
John Wilkinson English (25 June 1903 – 11 October 1969) was a British film editor and film director. He is most famous for the serial film, film serials he co-directed with William Witney for Republic Pictures such as ''Zorro's Fighting Legion'' and ''Drums of Fu Manchu''. He was credited variously as John W English, John English or Jack English. Career John English was born in Cumberland in the United Kingdom but moved to Canada at an early age. He first worked as a film editor before getting a break into directing at Republic in 1935. For a period in the 1930s and 1940s, starting with ''Zorro Rides Again'' (1937), he directed Movie Serials in partnership with William Witney. It was customary at the time for two directors to work on each serial, each working on alternate days. Robert Frazer
Robert Frazer (born Robert William Browne, June 29, 1891August 17, 1944) was an American actor who appeared in some 224 shorts and films from the 1910s until his death. He began in films with the Eclair company which released through Universal Pictures. Early years Frazer was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and educated in Massachusetts. When he was young, he worked in a grocery store during vacations and spent much of his spare time reading plays and literature about becoming an actor. He also staged backyard plays for his friends. Acting career Frazer acted with several repertory companies, including the Cosgrove Stock Company, toured the United States in productions, and performed on Broadway in ''Seremonda'' (1917). After some theater experience he swiftly moved into acting in silent films. He is the father of character actress and comedian Lu Leonard. On stage, Price toured for three months with Will Rogers in a production of '' Ah, Wilderness!''. Budd Leland Buster (June 14, 1891 – December 22, 1965), usually credited as Budd Buster (and sometimes Bud Buster), was an American actor known for B western films. He sometimes was credited as George Selk in his later work. Early life Buster was born either Budd Leland Buster or Leland Buster near Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 14, 1891. His parents were John M. Buster and Anna (Annie) Moore Buster, both from Missouri. According to the 1900 census, the family resided in Colorado Springs, and included Buster's one year younger sister, Demple, and his paternal grandmother. By 1920, Buster was part-owner with his father of Colorado Springs Auto and Carriage Livery Company, lived in Ivywild, Colorado, and had two children, Mary Jane (4 years) and John (1 year) with his wife, Mary. William Farnum
William Farnum (July 4, 1876 – June 5, 1953) was an American actor. He was a star of American silent film cinema and became one of the highest-paid actors during that time. Biography Farnum was born on July 4, 1876, in Boston, Massachusetts, but he grew up in Bucksport, Maine. One of three brothers, Farnum grew up in a family of actors. He made his acting debut at the age of 10 in Richmond, Virginia, in a production of ''Julius Caesar'', with Edwin Booth playing the title character.
