Gandigar is a well populated and socialized village in Upper Dir District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is situated on Dir Chitral road. Its population is about 1 lac(100000). The village is surrounded by green hills. The river Panjkora also flows through it. The majority of people of this village are Hajikhel (tribe) Syeds (also called Miangan or Mian), who are the descendants of a famous saint Haji Syed Ahmed Shah Syed Ahmed Shah, known as Haji Baba, was a famous saint of his time who migrated from Saudi Arabia to South Asia somewhere in the 15th or 16th century to preach Islam and later settled in the KP region. Upper Dir District
Upper Dir District ( ps, بر دير ولسوالۍ, ur, ) is a district in Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The city of Dir is the district headquarters. Badogai Pass connects it to Utror. At the time of independence, Dir was a princely state ruled by Nawab Shah Jehan Khan. It was merged with Pakistan in 1969 and later on declared as a district in 1970. In 1996, the Dir District was divided into Upper and Lower Dir districts. This district is situated in the northern part of Pakistan. Haji Syed Ahmed Shah
Syed Ahmed Shah, known as Haji Baba, was a famous saint of his time who migrated from Saudi Arabia to South Asia somewhere in the 15th or 16th century to preach Islam and later settled in the KP region. He earned the title of "Haji Baba" after performing hajj several times, traveling all the way from South Asia to Makkah on foot. He was direct descendant of Muhammad and Ali, specifically from the lineage of Imam Hussain and Imam Ali al-Hadi.
