Ganbare Pro-Wrestling
, often abbreviated to GanPro, is a Japanese professional wrestling promotion founded in 2013 as a sister promotion of DDT Pro-Wrestling. Although it originated as a special event by the parent company DDT, it has since become its own promotion. GanPro is promoted under the CyberFight banner as a sister promotion to DDT, Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling and Pro Wrestling Noah. History Ganbare☆Pro-Wrestling was created in 2013 by Ken Ohka as a brand of DDT Pro-Wrestling. The brand was created to capture the spirit of small independent promotions in Japan and, to do so, regularly brought in wrestlers from outside the promotion. In September 2021, GanPro revived the Ganbare☆Climax and created the Spirit of Ganbare World Openweight Championship as a prize for the winner of the tournament. Puroresu
is the predominant style of professional wrestling that has developed in Japan. The term comes from the Japanese pronunciation of , which is shortened to puroresu. The term became popular among English-speaking fans due to Hisaharu Tanabe's activities in the online Usenet community. Growing out of origins in the traditional US style of wrestling, it has become an entity in itself. Japanese pro wrestling is distinct in its psychology and presentation of the sport. It is treated as a legitimate fight, with fewer theatrics; the stories told in Japanese matches are about a fighter's spirit and perseverance. is a Japanese professional wrestler trained by and signed to DDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT). Ishii also competes for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), where he is a former World Junior Heavyweight Champion. Professional wrestling career DDT (2008–present) After being denied a place in the All Japan dojo, Ishii instead began training with DDT, and made his debut on July 6, 2008, unsuccessfully challenging Daichi Kakimoto for the World Ōmori Championship.
