Game Over (Nuclear Assault Album)
''Game Over'' is the debut album by thrash metal band Nuclear Assault, released in 1986. The cassette version of ''Game Over'' featured a track entitled "Lesbians", which did not appear on the CD version. However, this track was later performed on their 1992 live album '' Live at the Hammersmith Odeon''. Critical reception In 2005, ''Game Over'' was ranked number 287 in ''Rock Hard'' magazine's book of ''The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time''. Nuclear Assault
Nuclear Assault was an American thrash metal band formed in New York City in 1984. Part of the mid-to-late 1980s thrash metal movement, they were one of the main bands of the genre to emerge from the East Coast along with Overkill, Whiplash, Toxik, Carnivore, and Anthrax, the last of which was co-founded by Nuclear Assault bassist Dan Lilker, who left Anthrax shortly after the release of their first album. Nuclear Assault released five full-length albums and toured relentlessly throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, and broke up in 1995. The band reunited briefly in 1997 and then permanently in 2002 before subsequently breaking up again in 2022. Nuclear Assault had released six studio albums to date, in addition to two live albums, four EPs and one compilation album. Martin Popoff (born April 28, 1963) is a Canadian music journalist, critic and author. He is mainly known for writing about the genre of heavy metal music. The senior editor and co-founder of ''Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles'', he has additionally written over twenty books that both critically evaluate heavy metal and document its history. He has been called "heavy metal's most widely recognized journalist" by his publisher. Popoff lives in Toronto, Ontario. Repka (born October 22, 1960) is an American graphic artist, best known for creating album covers for heavy metal music, metal bands as well as shirt designs, including those featuring Megadeth's mascot Vic Rattlehead. Repka's portfolio also includes Dark Angel (band), Dark Angel's logo and model designs for the ''Hellraiser (franchise)#Films, Hellraiser'' films. Thomas J. Coyne (December 10, 1954April 12, 2017) was an American mastering engineer. Early life and career Coyne was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and grew up in nearby Union, where he graduated from Roselle Catholic High School in 1972. He attended Kean College where he received a degree in Commercial Design. Following college, Coyne's first job was at Dick Charles Recording where Lee Hulko, former owner of Sterling Sound, got his first job in the states after arriving from Thunder Bay, Ontario. In the six months Coyne worked at Dick Charles, he watched Dick master records on the lathe and soon began cutting his own after hours. Coyne then was hired at Frankford/Wayne Mastering Labs, assisting under Dominic Romeo, known for cutting 45s for The Rolling Stones, The Four Seasons, Frankie Valli and Dionne Warwick among others. Daniel A. Lilker (born October 18, 1964) is an American semi-retired musician best known as a bass player, but also guitarist, pianist, drummer and vocalist. He was the bassist for the thrash metal band Nuclear Assault and was a founding member of Anthrax with Scott Ian. John Connelly (born July 28, 1962) is an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist of New York City thrash metal band Nuclear Assault. Biography Connelly started as a roadie for thrash metal band Anthrax where he became a close friend of Anthrax bassist Danny Lilker. He formed the band Nuclear Assault in 1983, and Lilker, having left Anthrax, joined him soon after.
