Game Design Workshop
''Game Design Workshop '' is a book on game design by Tracy Fullerton, originally published by CMP Books in 2004. It has been updated and released in three subsequent editions, the latest by A K Peters/CRC Press in 2018. The book is based on the core game design curriculum taught at the USC Interactive Media & Games Division of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Tracy Fullerton
Tracy Fullerton (born June 21, 1965) is an American game designer, educator and writer. She is a Professor in the USC Interactive Media & Games Division of the USC School of Cinematic Arts and Director of the Game Innovation Lab at USC. In 2014 she was named Director of the USC Games Program, an interdisciplinary collaboration between the School of Cinematic Arts and the Viterbi School of Engineering at USC. From 2010 to 2017, she served as Chair of the USC Interactive Media & Games Division. Biography In December 2008, she was installed as the holder of the Electronic Arts Endowed Chair of Interactive Entertainment at USC. Jane McGonigal
Jane McGonigal (born October 21, 1977) is an American author, game designer, and researcher. McGonigal advocates using mobile and digital technology to channel positive attitudes and collaboration in a real-world context. Biography Early years McGonigal was brought up in New Jersey. Her parents are teachers who emphasized intellectual attainment. Her identical twin sister, Kelly McGonigal, is a psychologist. Education McGonigal received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Fordham University in 1999 and her Ph.D. in Performance Studies from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006. Kellee Santiago
Kellee Santiago is a Venezuelan American video game designer and producer. She is the co-founder and former president of thatgamecompany. Santiago was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and raised in Richmond, Virginia, where Santiago played video games from a young age and was encouraged by her software engineer father to experiment with computers. While attending New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, she became active in experimental theater, planning to pursue it after earning a master's degree in the Interactive Media Program of the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California. Warren Spector
Warren Evan Spector (born October 2, 1955) is an American role-playing and video game designer, director, writer, producer and production designer. He is known for creating immersive sim games, which give players a wide variety of choices in how to progress. Consequences of those choices are then shown in the simulated game world in subsequent levels or missions. Frank Lantz
Frank Lantz (born December 17, 1963) is the Director of the New York University Game Center. For over 12 years, Lantz taught game design at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program. He has also taught at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design. His writings on games, technology, and culture have appeared in a variety of publications. In 2012, The New York Times referred to Lantz as a "reigning genius of the mysteries of games" following his design of iPhone puzzle game Drop7. Eric Zimmerman
Eric Zimmerman (born 1969) is an American game designer and the co-founder and CEO of Gamelab, a computer game development company based in Manhattan. GameLab is known for the game '' Diner Dash''. Each year Zimmerman hosts the Game Design Challenge at the Game Developers Conference. He is also the co-author of four books including '' Rules of Play'' with Katie Salen, which was published in November 2004. Richard Lemarchand
Richard Lemarchand is game designer, teacher, and author. He is known for being the lead designer on the ''Uncharted'' video game series from Naughty Dog. Chaim Gingold
Chaim Gingold (born January 15, 1980 in Haifa, Israel) is noted for his work with the computer game Spore, where he designed the game's creators, including the Spore Creature Creator. Chaim was also a key member of Spore's design and prototyping team. He has presented at the Game Developers Conference and is an active participant in the academic game studies community. Gingold grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University, where he studied computer science, English, and art.
