Galway–Kerry Gaelic Football Rivalry
The Galway–Kerry rivalry is a Gaelic football rivalry between Irish county teams Galway and Kerry, who first played each other in 1913. It was considered to be one of the biggest rivalries in Gaelic games during the 1960s. Kerry's home ground is Fitzgerald Stadium and Galway's home ground is Pearse Stadium, however, all of their championship meetings have been held at neutral venues, usually Croke Park. The teams are two of the most successful in the sport. Kerry have the most All-Ireland titles of any county, while Galway are the third most successful. At provincial level, Kerry have the highest number of Munster Munster ( gle, an Mhumhain or ) is one of the provinces of Ireland, in the south of Ireland. The 2008 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was that year's Gaelic football championship, having thrown-in on 11 May 2008 and concluded with the All-Ireland final at Croke Park on 21 September 2008. 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship
The 2002 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 116th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 2002 and ended on 22 September 2002. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-final. On 22 September 2002, Armagh won the championship following a 1-12 to 0-14 defeat of Kerry in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title. It remains their only All-Ireland title. Armagh's Oisín McConville was the championship's top scorer with 1-40. His teammate Kieran McGeeney was the choice for the three Footballer of the Year awards. The 1963 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 77th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 5 May 1963 and ended on 22 September 1963. As of 2018, it remains the last All Ireland Senior Football Championship season to be completed without any draws. Kilkenny dropped from the championship until 1975. Kerry entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were defeated by Galway in the All-Ireland semi-final. On 22 September 1963, Dublin won the championship following a 1-9 to 0-10 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. Their first All-Ireland victory in five championship seasons, this was their 17th All-Ireland triumph. Dublin's Mickey Whelan was the championship's top scorer with 1-20.
