Galway Corinthians RFC
Galway Corinthians Rugby Football Club is a rugby club in Galway, Ireland and the largest rugby union club in the province of Connaught. The club was founded in 1932 and plays in Division 2B of the Irish domestic club competition the All-Ireland League. The club's home ground is at Corinthian Park, Cloonacauneen, Co. Galway. Foundation and early history On 13 September 1932 a brief report in the pages of the Connacht Sentinel announced the formation of a new rugby club in Galway. Its membership was drawn largely from Galway's inner city and working class and was composed in the main of students and players of St Joseph's Patrician College (The Bish) and the Galway Grammar School. Irish Rugby Football Union
The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) ( ga, Cumann Rugbaí na hÉireann) is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). The IRFU has its head office at 10/12 Lansdowne Road and home ground at Aviva Stadium, where adult men's Irish rugby union international matches are played. Noel Mannion (born 12 January 1963 in Ballinasloe, Ireland) is a former Irish rugby union international player who played for the Irish national rugby union team. He played as a number eight. Kieran Marmion
Kieran Marmion (born 11 February 1992) is an Irish rugby union player who primarily plays as a scrum-half. Marmion currently plays for Irish provincial side Connacht in the Pro14. Marmion came into Connacht's academy through the Irish Exiles program and plays his club rugby with Galway Corinthians. Marmion has played his international rugby for since under-age level making his full debut in 2014. Early life Marmion was born in Barking, England to Irish parents and was raised in Brecon, Wales. Eoghan Masterson
Eoghan Masterson (born 5 April 1993) is an Irish professional rugby union player who plays for Aurillac. He primarily plays in the back row, though he has played as a lock at under-age level. Masterson previously played for Irish provincial side Connacht in the Pro14, after being promoted from the academy ahead of the 2015–16 season. Early life Masterson is originally from Laois, and attended St. Mary's the Christian Brothers school in Portlaoise. Johnny O'Connor
Johnny O'Connor (born 9 February 1980) is an Irish rugby union coach and former player. He is currently a strength and conditioning coach at his former club Connacht, having previously performed that role at football clubs Arsenal and Galway United. During his playing career he was primarily a flanker. O'Connor spent most of his career with Irish provincial side Connacht, making over 100 appearances across two stints with the team. Eoin Griffin (Irish name: ''Eoghan Ó Griofa''; born 18 September 1990) is a former professional rugby union player from Ireland. He primarily played as a centre, and played both outside and inside channels. Griffin last played for Connacht in the Pro14. Connacht Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Connachta) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Connacht competes in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The Bish
St. Joseph's Patrician College, often known as "The Bish", is a secondary school in the West Ireland city of Galway. Founded by the Patrician Brothers, a religious order, it has approximately 800 students on roll and, in recent years, has had success in a wide range of sporting activities including soccer, rugby, basketball, rowing, Gaelic games, athletics, and table tennis. Connacht ( ; ga, Connachta or ), is one of the provinces of Ireland, in the west of Ireland.
