Kongsvingerbanen
The Kongsvinger Line ( no, Kongsvingerbanen) is a railway line between the towns of Lillestrøm and Kongsvinger in Norway and onwards to Charlottenberg in Sweden. The railway was opened on 3 October 1862 and is Norway's second standard gauge line (after the Hoved Line). It was electrified in 1951. The line is owned by the Norwegian National Rail Administration. The line At Kongsvinger there is a junction, the main line turns south and continues to Charlottenberg in Sweden, while another line, the Solør Line—now closed for passenger traffic—runs northwards to Elverum. Hedmark
Hedmark () was a county in Norway before 1 January 2020, bordering Trøndelag to the north, Oppland to the west, Akershus to the south, and Sweden to the east. The county administration is in Hamar. Hedmark and Oppland counties were merged into Innlandet county on 1 January 2020, when Norway's former 19 counties became 10 bigger counties / regions Hedmark made up the northeastern part of Østlandet, the southeastern part of the country. It had a long border with Sweden to the east (Dalarna County and Värmland County). The largest lakes were Femunden and Mjøsa, the largest lake in Norway. Vinger (municipality)
Vinger is a former municipality in the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until 1964 when it became part of Kongsvinger Municipality. The municipality was located in the Vinger region in the southern part of the county, along the border with Sweden. The administrative centre of Vinger was located in the town of Kongsvinger where Vinger Church is located (the town was not actually part of the municipality, but this was where the councils met). History The prestegjeld of Vinger was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt law). In 1854, the King issued a royal decree that declared the village area around the Kongsvinger Fortress to be a kjøpstad.
