George Charles Galster (born 1948) is the Clarence Hilberry Professor of Urban Affairs in the Department of Urban Studies & Planning at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Education Galster received his B.A. in economics ''summa cum laude'' from Wittenberg University, his B.S. in organizational science, also ''summa cum laude'', from Case Western Reserve University, and his Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Career Galster joined the Urban Institute in 1993 as a principal research associate, and was its director of housing research from 1994 to 1996, when he joined Wayne State University. Karl Galster
Z20 ''Karl Galster'' was one of six Type 1936 destroyers built for the ''Kriegsmarine'' (German Navy) in the late 1930s. Completed in early 1939, the ship spent most of her time training. At the beginning of World War II in September, she was initially deployed to lay minefields off the German coast, but was soon transferred to the Skagerrak where she inspected neutral shipping for contraband goods. In late 1939 and early 1940, ''Z20 Karl Galster'' helped to laid three offensive minefields off the English coast that claimed one British destroyer, a fishing trawler, and twenty merchant ships. After a refit that prevented her from participating in the German invasion of Norway in April, the ship was sent to Norway for escort duties. Galster Wilderness Park Nature Center
The Galster Wilderness Park Nature Center is a small museum and educational center set in Galster Wilderness Park, a wilderness park located on the north slope of the San Jose Hills in the San Gabriel Valley, California. It is operated by the San Gabriel Mountains Regional Conservancy in partnership with the City of West Covina, California. The center is named after Emil S. and Gladys Galster, who deeded the park to the City of West Covina in 1971. Emil and Gladys Galster stipulated that the park will always remain a wilderness park and be available for educational use to scouting organizations. Galster Wilderness is one of the last remaining native plant communities of Southern California Black Walnut Woodlands, ''Juglans californica'' trees, which grow on the north slope of the San Jose Hills.
