Geza Gallos (7 September 1948 – 3 November 2013) was an Austrian footballer who played as a forward (association football), forward. Gallos played for Eisenstadt, Rapid Vienna, Linzer ASK, Admira Wacker and SC Neusiedl am See 1919, Neusiedl am See. He also won six caps for Austria. Hermann Gallos
Hermann Gallos (21 January 1886 – 20 February 1957) was an Austrian operatic tenor and academic teacher. He was a long-standing ensemble member of the Vienna State Opera and performed regularly at the Salzburg Festival from 1922 to 1950, in roles such as Pedrillo in Mozart's ''Die Entführung aus dem Serail'' and Valzacchi in ''Der Rosenkavalier'' by Richard Strauss. Life and career Born in Vienna, Gallos first studied law at the University of Vienna, and then voice at the Vienna Music Academy. He sang predominantly buffo roles and was often heard in important tenor secondary roles. In 1922, the first year in which operas were performed at the Salzburg Festival, he appeared in Mozart operas, as Pedrillo in ''Die Entführung aus dem Serail'' and Don Curzio in ''Le nozze di Figaro'', both conducted by Franz Schalk. ''Gallos'' is an bronze sculpture by Rubin Eynon located at Tintagel Castle, a medieval fortification located on the peninsula of Tintagel Island adjacent to the village of Tintagel (Trevena), North Cornwall, in the United Kingdom. It is a representation of a ghostly male figure wearing a crown and holding a sword. It is popularly called the "King Arthur statue", but the site's owner English Heritage states that it is not meant to represent a single person and reflects the general history of the site, which is likely to have been a summer residence for the kings of Dumnonia. Background Tintagel Castle is sited on the north coast of Cornwall, and is operated by English Heritage. The writings of Geoffrey of Monmouth in the 12th century associated the castle with the King Arthur legend, placing it as the home of Arthur's mother Igraine. The Hermosillo Gallos Blancos was a soccer team that played in the Primera Division 'A' between the 1995 to 1996. They played in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. History The origin of the club goes back to the 1994-95 season, when Querétaro was reborn after Tampico-Madero had problems with their stadium and changed its name to Tampico Madero Gallos Blancos to play the remaining 9 games of the season. At the end of the season the team would drop to Primera Division 'A', and this would lead to the origin of the club Hermosillo. Entrepreneurs turned their gaze to new destinations with footballing future, so they decide to move the team of Querétaro to Hermosillo, a city located in northwest Mexico where, at the time, football was virtually an unknown sport. Gallos de Sancti Spíritus (English: Sancti Spíritus Roosters) is a baseball team in the Cuban National Series. The team won the series championship in 1978–79. The Gallos have advanced to the National Series semifinals in each of the past two seasons; 2004–05 and 2005–06. Club de Fútbol Gallos Hidrocálidos de Aguascalientes was a Association football, football club from Aguascalientes, Mexico. History The club was founded in 1994, when Jose Carmelo Gonzalez, bought a second division franchise which he relocated to Aguascalientes where there was no professional football club. The club played its last tournament in 2000-2001 when the Governor of Aguascalientes bought first division club Necaxa, with its national following, and relocated it from Mexico City. Gallos de Aguascalientes was then sold to C.D. Guadalajara, Chivas, which changed its name to C.D. Tapatío, F.C. Tapatio de Guadalajara, affiliated to Chivas. In 2012 the team was refounded to participate in the Liga TDP, Third Division, in 2014 it stopped participating in the league, however, between 2015 and 2019 its registration was used by the clubs Tamasopo F.C., Lobos de Zacoalco and Autlán F.C.
