Gallop Meets The Earth
''Gallop Meets the Earth'' is the first live CD/DVD by Canadian progressive metal band Protest the Hero released on September 29, 2009. The two disc package includes the band's live performance from Toronto, Ontario on audio CD and on DVD in high definition with 5.1 Surround Sound. If pre-ordered, it also comes with a T-shirt and signed Protest the Hero Poster (If pre-ordered in Canada). The title comes from a line in the song Bloodmeat: "Thus now the fools of god will guard the city of our birth, hold an ear to the ground to hear the sound of clamoring, and horses stammer as their gallop meets the earth." Sequoia Throne
"Sequoia Throne" is a song by Protest The Hero and is the second single released from their 2008 album ''Fortress''. It was released exclusively through the iTunes online music store. In addition, a "Sequoia Throne" remix contest was announced; the three winning entries were featured on an album bundle from iTunes, and one would be included on a ''Metal Hammer'' compilation CD. Video information The music video for "Sequoia Throne" was released April 25, 2008. The video was directed by Marc Andre Debruyne (who also directed the video for "Bloodmeat", the first single off ''Fortress''). It features the band in an empty building at first performing the song separately in business suits & ties while lead singer Rody Walker maniacally walks through the halls singing the song. Surround sound is a technique for enriching the fidelity and depth of sound reproduction by using multiple audio channels from speakers that surround the listener ( surround channels). Its first application was in movie theaters. ''Scurrilous'' is the third studio album by Canadian progressive metal band Protest the Hero. It was released on March 22, 2011. The word ''scurrilous'' is defined as "vulgar verbal abuse; foul-mouthed; coarse, vulgar, abusive, or slanderous." It is the last album released under Protest the Hero's original lineup, due to the departure of drummer Moe Carlson and bassist Arif Mirabdolbaghi two years later. Overview Recording for Scurrilous began on August 30, 2010. Walker stated on his Twitter page on that day: "it has begun" and also on his Facebook page on the 31st that "It is underway", both in reference to the band's next full-length album recording. ''Fortress'' is the second studio album by Canadian band Protest the Hero which was released on January 29, 2008 on Vagrant Records in the US and Underground Operations in Canada. Overview ''Fortress'' was recorded at Silo Studios in Hamilton, Ontario during the summer of 2007. The album contains 10 tracks broken into three movements, separated by piano interludes, and is approximately 41 minutes in length. The band has stated that the sound is similar to '' Kezia'' but with a "less poppy and more technical metal" influence.
