Galician National-Popular Assembly
The Galician National-Popular Assembly (AN-PG, ''Asemblea Nacional-Popular Galega'' in Galician language) was suprapartisan umbrella organization established in 1975 created to coordinate various political ''fronts'' of the left-wing Galician nationalist movement. History The principles of the AN-PG were self-determination, self-government, anti-colonialism, democracy and the promoting the creation of Galician political forces and had as it main objective the formation of a Galician provisional government after getting power. The AN-PG used the estreleira as its flag and organized protests on July 25, considered as "Día Nacional de Galicia" or the "Day of the Galician Fatherland". Galician Nationalist Bloc
The Galician Nationalist Bloc ( gl, Bloque Nacionalista Galego, BNG ) is a political alliance of left-wing Galician nationalist parties. It is self-defined as a "patriotic front". Formed in 1982, under the guidance of historical leader Xosé Manuel Beiras, the BNG calls for further devolution of powers to the Parliament of Galicia and the official and unambiguous recognition of Galicia as a nation. Galician People's Assembly
The Galician People's Assembly (APG; ''Asemblea Popular Galega'', in Galician language) was a political organization founded on October 10, 1976 by a splinter group of the Galician National-Popular Assembly. The APG considered AN-PG to close to the Galician People's Union. Its leaders were Xan López Facal, César Portela, Carlos Vázquez and Mario López Rico. The organization held its first congress in December 1976. The APG supported the Galician Socialist Party, a splinter of the agrarian union Comisións Labregas, called Comisións Labregas Terra and the Comités de Traballadores Galegos. The APG participated in the launching of the magazine ''Teima'' (1976-1977). Galician People's Union
The Galician People's Union ( gl, Unión do Povo Galego) is a Galician nationalist and communist political party, and is one of the registered political parties of Spain. The party publishes the magazine ''Terra e Tempo'', and the secretary general is Néstor Rego. It was founded in 1964 with the intention of the independence of Galicia and its transformation into a socialist state. It caused the creation of nationalist fronts such as the Galician National-Popular Assembly and the Bloque Nacionalista Galego. Since 1982 it is one of the parties in the coalition.
