Galgamuwa ( si, ගල්ගමුව, ta, கல்கமுவ) is a town in Kurunegala District, North Western Province, Sri Lanka. It consists of 62 Grama Niladhari divisions and is situated between the Kala Oya and the Mee Oya River A river is a natural flowing watercourse, usually freshwater, flowing towards an ocean, sea, lake or another river. Kurunegala ( si, කුරුණෑගල, ta, குருணாகல்) is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of the North Western Province and the Kurunegala District. Kurunegala was an ancient royal capital for 50 years, from the end of the 13th century to the start of the 14th century. It is at the junction of several main roads linking to other important parts of the country. It is about from Colombo, from Kandy and from Matale. ''Grama Niladhari'' (''village officers'') ( si, ග්රාම නිලධාරී) is a Sri Lankan public official appointed by the central government to carry out administrative duties in a ''grama niladhari'' division, which is a sub-unit of a divisional secretariat. They come under the Grama Niladhari Division under the Home Affairs Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
