Margaret Cossaceanu
Margaret Cossaceanu, born Margareta Cosăceanu, later Margaret Cossaceanu-Lavrillier (4 January 1893– 22 September 1980) was a French sculptor of Romanian origin. Biography Margaret Cossaceanu, was born in Bucharest and was the niece of scientist George Constantinescu, inventor of the Theory of sonics. She studied sculpture from 1910 to 1913 at the School of Fine Arts in Bucharest under Dimitrie Paciurea. In 1921, she obtained a scholarship enabling her to go to Rome to pursue her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, (at the same time, painter Lucian Grigorescu was studying there). It was during this stay in the Italian capital that she met French engraver-medalist André Lavrillier, winner of the Prix de Rome in 1914, and boarder at the Villa Medici. He took her to Paris, and introduced her to sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. Arnold Odermatt
Arnold Odermatt (25 May 1925 − 19 June 2021) was a Swiss police photographer whose work spanned more than 40 years. Originally trained as a baker, he was a photographer for the Nidwalden cantonal police from 1948 until his retirement in 1990. He is best known for his eerily beautiful black and white photographs of the aftermaths of motor vehicle accidents. Odermatt joined the police in 1948 and rose to become a lieutenant, chief of the transport police, and deputy chief inspector of the Nidwalden Police before he retired. At the beginning of the 1990s, Odermatt's photography was discovered by his son, Urs Odermatt during research for his film ', and this work became a central theme in the film's plot. Paul McCarthy
Paul McCarthy (born August 4, 1945) is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Life McCarthy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1945. He studied art at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and later continued to study at the University of Utah until 1969. He went on to study at the San Francisco Art Institute, receiving a BFA in painting. In 1972 he studied film, video, and art at the University of Southern California, receiving an MFA. From 1982 to 2002 he taught performance, video, installation, and performance art history at the University of California, Los Angeles. McCarthy currently works mainly in video and sculpture. Originally formally trained as a painter, McCarthy's main interest lies in everyday activities and the mess created by them.
