Galaxie Amnéville
Galaxie Amnéville (also known as Galaxie Mega Hall, Galaxie de Metz, Galaxie d'Amnéville or simply Le Galaxie) is an indoor arena located in the Communes of France, commune of Amnéville, France (a suburb of Metz). The arena is primarily used for concerts and other music-related events. However, it also houses handball tournaments. Background In 1987, :fr:Jean Kiffer, Jean Kiffer, deputy mayor of Amnéville proposed a new entertainment centre for Lorraine (region), Lorraine to host musical and sporting events. Originally, the Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication to construct a Le Zénith, Zénith in Amnéville. However, these plans were abandoned with the organization later opening Zénith de Nancy in Maxéville, 1993. Known as Salle Thermal, the original plans were to construct a casino to include an open-air amphitheater seating 5,400. Amnéville
Amnéville (; german: Amenweiler, 1940–45: ) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in northeastern France. The town is an important tourist and thermal spa center in France. Geography Amnéville is located in the Moselle valley, between Metz and Thionville. Population History A Celtic presence on the municipal territory of Amnéville has been attested since the 6th century BC. Excavations have demonstrated the existence of a village and a necropolis. Amnéville was part of the Duchy of Bar until 1480, then of the Duchy of Lorraine. During the first German annexation, in 1894, the municipality of Amnéville was created by splitting the municipality of Gandrange. The Rombas factory was created at this time. The new municipality was named Stahlheim, literally "City of Steel". Stahlheim-Amnéville, will later be renamed Amnéville-Stahlheim. It became French again in 1919.
