Gal Alberman
Gal Alberman ( he, גל אלברמן; born 17 April 1983) is an Israeli former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Career Maccabi Petah Tikva Alberman was born in Petah Tikva, Israel, to a Jewish family. Alberman started playing for Maccabi Petah Tikva in the youth levels. He playing alongside Tomer Ben-Yosef and Omer Golan, among others. In his five years in Petah Tikva, he won the Toto Cup, reached second place in the premier league and also the State Cup final. Omer Golan ( he, עומר גולן; born 4 October 1982) is a former Israeli footballer. He played as a striker for his home club Maccabi Petah Tikva and for Lokeren. Club career Maccabi Petah Tikva Golan played in the youth ranks of Maccabi Petah Tikva, before being transferred to the first team in 2000. In the 2003–04 Israeli Premier League, Golan was the third equal highest goalscorer, netting 13 times. In the 2005–06 Israeli Premier League, Golan was the fifth equal highest goalscorer, with 11 strikes. The Israel State Cup ( he, גביע המדינה, ''Gvia HaMedina''), is a knockout cup competition in Israeli football, run by the Israel Football Association (IFA). The State Cup was first held in 1928 as the People's Cup. Because it involves clubs of all standards playing against each other, there is the possibility for "minnows" from the lower divisions to become "giant-killers" by eliminating top clubs from the tournament, although lower division teams rarely reach the final. The 2007–08 Israeli Premier League season began on 18 August 2007 and ended on 1 June 2008, with Beitar Jerusalem win their second consecutive title. Two teams from Liga Leumit were promoted at the end of the previous season: Ironi Kiryat Shmona and Bnei Sakhnin. The two teams relegated were Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan and Hapoel Petah Tikva.
