Gloria Gaither (born March 4, 1942) is a Christian singer-songwriter, author, speaker, editor, and academic. She is married to Bill Gaither and together they have written more than 700 songs. She performed, traveled and recorded with the Bill Gaither Trio from 1965 through 1991. Since 1991, she has served as a performer, recording artist, songwriter, scriptwriter and narrator for the Gaither Homecoming series of television broadcasts, video and DVD releases, and audio recordings. Scott Gaither is a retired American soccer player. He played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League, National Professional Soccer League and Eastern Indoor Soccer League. Youth Gaither graduated from Belton High School. He attended Lewis University playing only one season of soccer there before leaving to get married. He entered the University of Missouri–Kansas City, but left to turn professional before he had played for them. In 1990, having failed to earn a professional contract, Gaither attended Johnson County Community College where he played for one season. Ridgely Gaither (February 23, 1903 – October 26, 1992) was a United States Army lieutenant general prominent as commander of the 40th Infantry Division during the Korean War, and commander of the XVIII Airborne Corps, U.S. Army Caribbean Command and Second United States Army. Early life Gaither was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on February 23, 1903 to a family which included Army officers since the American Revolution and is the namesake of Gaithersburg, Maryland. Gaither graduated from St. John's College in Annapolis and received his commission as a second lieutenant of Infantry in 1924. Nathan Gaither
Nathan Gaither (September 15, 1788 – August 12, 1862) was a U.S. Representative from Kentucky. Born near Mocksville, North Carolina, Gaither completed preparatory studies. He attended Bardstown College. He studied medicine. He was graduated from Jefferson Medical College and began practice in Columbia, Kentucky. He served as assistant surgeon in the War of 1812. He served as member of the State house of representatives 1815–1818. Gaither was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first and Twenty-second Congresses (March 4, 1829 – March 3, 1833). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection 1832 to the Twenty-third Congress. He served as delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1849. He was again a member of the State house of representatives 1855–1857. He resumed the practice of medicine. He died in Columbia, Kentucky, August 12, 1862. He was interred in Columbia Cemetery. Marcus Gaither (April 26, 1961 – July 16, 2020) was an American-French professional basketball player, who played the guard position. In 1989–90 Gaither led the Israel Basketball Premier League in scoring. He then played in France for 11 years, and he ended his career playing for one season in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A. Alonzo Smith "Jake" Gaither (April 11, 1903 – February 18, 1994) was an American football coach and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Florida A&M University (FAMU) for 25 years, from 1945 to 1969, compiling a record of 204–36–4. His won–loss record is among the best of any college football coach. Gaither was born in 1903 in Dayton, Tennessee. His father was a preacher, and as a youth Gaither expected to also become a preacher. He graduated from Knoxville College, where he played football as an end in 1927. Gaither's father died around that time, and Gaither became a high school football coach to help support his family. Gaither later completed a master's degree at Ohio State University in 1937.
