Gaither High School
Gaither High School is a public high school located in the Northdale area of Hillsborough County, Florida. It opened in 1984 and is located on 16200 North Dale Mabry Highway. Bloomingdale High School, located in Valrico, Florida, was built around the same time and has the same architectural design. The school serves the communities of Northdale, Carrollwood Village, Lake Magdalene and other parts of northern Hillsborough County, such as Avila, and parts of southern Lutz. History and traditions When Gaither first opened up its doors in 1984–85, Seniors were not in attendance, and the school served only 9th-11th graders (Gaither did not have a class of 1985). In the 1985-86 year, (class of 1989) Gaither kept its doors open to 9th graders. Dale Mabry Highway
Dale Mabry Highway is a north–south road in Tampa, Florida. The majority of its length consists of three lanes each direction plus a central turn-lane and often includes a right-turn lane. It begins at the MacDill Air Force Base entrance in South Tampa and ends by merging with US 41 just north of the Pasco County border. The highway carries multiple designations, carrying US 92 for an approximately five-mile () stretch between Hillsborough Avenue and Gandy Boulevard. Eddie Ababio
Edward Kwame Ababio (born January 1, 1988) is a Ghanaian-American retired association football, soccer player. Ababio is a coach with Tampa Bay United, a youth organization supported by the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Ababio previously coached with Florida Hawks FC, a youth program based in Lithia, Florida. Career College and Amateur Born in Accra, Ghana, Ababio lived for several years in Tampa, Florida where he played for HC United and Gaither High School before joining the US Under-17 national team residency at the IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He played for the UNC Tar Heels in college where he featured regularly almost throughout his time at the school (he was medically redshirted after making three appearances in the 2009 season). Carlton Mitchell
Carlton Mitchell (born April 6, 1988) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL) in the sixth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at South Florida. College career Mitchell played college football at South Florida, where he was the school's career leader in receiving yards until his record was broken by Andre Davis in 2014. Oscar Mauricio Mercado (born December 16, 1994) is a Colombian-American professional baseball outfielder in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Jennifer Kesse
Jennifer Joyce Kesse (born May 20, 1981) is an American woman from Orlando, Florida, who has been missing since January 23, 2006. Shortly after she vanished, Kesse's car was discovered parked around a mile from her home. Security footage recorded a person parking Kesse's car and walking away; the person could not be identified due to poor camera quality and the absence of any visible distinguishing physical features. The case received local and national press attention. As of 2023, no arrests have been made and Kesse's whereabouts remain unknown. North American Soccer League (2011–2017)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was a professional men's soccer league based in the United States. The league was named for, but had no connection to, the original North American Soccer League. The later NASL was founded in 2009, and began play in 2011 with eight teams. From 2013 through 2017, the NASL used a split-season schedule running from April to early November, with a four-week break in July. Fernando González (born June 12, 1989 in Tampa, Florida) is a Puerto Rican footballer. Career College and Amateur González played for Tampa powerhouse HC United. With HCU, he won the SYL North American championship. He also played at Gaither High School during his time with HC United. González then played in college for the USF Bulls. Professional González signed with Atlanta Silverbacks of the second tier North American Soccer League and made his professional debut on April 9, 2011 in a game against NSC Minnesota Stars. Kevin Forrest Cash (born December 6, 1977) is an American professional baseball manager and former player who is the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB).
