Gairkata is a census town in the Dhupguri CD block in the Jalpaiguri Sadar subdivision of the Jalpaiguri district in the state of West Bengal, India. It is the native town of prominent Bengali writer Samaresh Majumdar, poet and journalist Bikash Sarkar and CPI leader Samar Ganguly.
