The Gainesville Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of one county – Hall – in the state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population of 179,684 (though a July 1, 2016 estimate placed the population at 196,637). The Gainesville Metropolitan Statistical Area is also part of the larger Atlanta–Sandy Springs–Gainesville, Georgia Combined Statistical Area. Rest Haven, Georgia
Rest Haven is a town primarily in northern Gwinnett and partly in southern Hall counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, it had a total population of 62. Clermont is a town in Hall County, Georgia, United States. The population was 875 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Gainesville, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. History An early variant name was "Dip". A post office called Dip was established in 1892, and the name was changed to Clermont in 1905. It is part of the Gainesville, Georgia metropolitan area, and lies on the shores of Lake Lanier. History Flowery Branch was established in 1874, one year after the Richmond and Danville Air-Line Railroad Railway System built a rail line through the city connecting Charlotte to Atlanta.
