	Amity Gaige Amity Gaige (born 1972) is an American novelist, known for her books ''O My Darling'', ''The Folded World'', ''Schroder'', and ''Sea Wife''. She is a 2016 Guggenheim Fellow in Fiction. Early life Amity Gaige was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, to an academic father and a psychologist mother. The Gaige family moved several times before settling in Reading, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Brown University, where she studied English and theater. She later obtained an M.F.A. from the Iowa Writers' Workshop (1999). Career Her first novel, ''O My Darling'' (Other Press, 2005) won her a place in the inaugural year of the National Book Foundation’s 5 Under 35 Awards. 	Helen Beulah Thompson Gaige Helen Beulah Thompson Gaige (November 24, 1890 – October 24, 1976) was an American herpetologist, curator of Reptiles and Amphibians for the Museum of Zoology at the University of Michigan, and a specialist in neotropical frogs. Gaige was born in Bad Axe, Michigan, and studied at the University of Michigan with Frank Nelson Blanchard, under professor Alexander Grant Ruthven. From 1910 until 1923 she was an assistant curator of reptiles and amphibians for the Museum of Zoology at the University of Michigan. In 1923 she became curator of amphibians. In 1928, she co-authored ''The Herpetology of Michigan'' with Ruthven. In 1937 she became editor in chief of the ichthyological and herpetological periodical ''Copeia'', and wrote extensively on Central American amphibians and reptiles. Her research chiefly concerned the geographical distribution, habitats, and life histories of amphibians. 	Jeremy Gaige Jeremy Gaige (October 9, 1927 in New York – February 19, 2011) was an American chess archivist and journalist. He was best known for his work collecting and publishing tournament results and basic biographical data on chess players. Hooper and Whyld called his works "scrupulously written" and "a source of reference for chess journalists and writers all over the world". Gaige's 1969 book, ''A Catalog of Chess Players and Problemists'', contained about 3000 names with dates and places of birth and death. Chess writers soon began sending him information, and ''Chess Personalia'' (1987), his greatly expanded follow up, listed about 14,000 names with dates and places of birth and death, along with references to sources of biographical information. He died of emphysema on 19 February 2011, at his home in Philadelphia. The house was built about 1830 and is a rectangular two story, five bay frame building in a vernacular Federal style. It has a one-story, gable roofed side wing. It features a gable roof with cornice returns, a recessed central entrance, and two brick interior end chimneys. Also on the property are two sheds, a carriage house, and a shop building.
