Gahoun Georges Hégbor
Gahoun Kossi Georges Hégbor (born August 18, 1940) is a Togolese politician who co-founded the Action Committee for Renewal (CAR) political party.. Early life and education Hégbor was born in Baguida in 1940. In 1965, he received a technical certificate in journalism in Paris. Later on, Hégbor earned a law degree (DESS) at Panthéon-Assas University in 1975 and was admitted to the bar in 1978. Career Hégbor worked as a journalist for ''Togo-Presse'' from 1963 to 1972 and was a diplomat at the Togolese embassy in Paris from 1972 to 1976. Hégbor was a founding member of the Action Committee for Renewal (CAR). On June 23, 1993, he filed the candidacy of CAR President Yawovi Agboyibo for the 1993 presidential election. He was elected to the National Assembly in the second round of the February 1994 parliamentary election as the CAR candidate in the Second Constituency of Golfe Prefecture. Togo

1994 Togolese Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Togo on 6 February 1994, with a second round on 18 March in 24 constituencies. The first multi-party elections since the 1960s, they saw the ruling Rally of the Togolese People (RPT) finish second behind the Action Committee for Renewal (CAR), who together with their allies the Togolese Union for Democracy (UTD), gained a majority in the National Assembly. Results Aftermath Following the elections, the RPT lodged a complaint with the Supreme Court, resulting in invalidation of three seats (two won by the CAR and one by the UTD). Nevertheless, they maintained a majority in the Assembly, and nominated CAR leader Yawovi Agboyibo for the post of Prime Minister. However, RPT leader President Gnassingbé Eyadéma refused to accept the nomination, and instead appointed UTD leader Edem Kodjo. Presidential elections were held in Togo on 25 August 1993. They were the first presidential elections in the country to feature more than one candidate. However, the major opposition parties boycotted the election, and only two minor candidates ran against incumbent President Gnassingbé Eyadéma, who ultimately won over 95% of the vote. Yawovi Madji Agboyibo (31 December 1943, Republicoftogo.com, 11 January 2007 .30 May 2020) was a Togolese attorney and politician. He served as Prime Minister of Togo from September 2006 to December 2007 and was National President of the Action Committee for Renewal (CAR), an opposition political party, from 1991 to 2008.
