Gaetano Vastola (gangster)
Gaetano "Corky" Vastola (born May 20, 1928) is a New Jersey mobster who became a captain in the DeCavalcante crime family in New Jersey. Record mogul In 1946, Vastola was arrested for burglary in New York City. He was convicted and received a suspended sentence and probation because he was a youthful offender. In his early years, Vastola was a concert promoter for singers Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin, and a golf partner with actor/singer Sammy Davis Jr. A part owner of Roulette Records, Vastola was the listed songwriter on several doo-wop hits from the 1950s and 1960s, including The Valentines song " Lily Maebelle", The Cleftones song " You Baby You", and The Wrens song "Hey Girl". A caporegime or capodecina, usually shortened to capo or informally referred to as "captain" or "skipper", is a rank used in the Mafia (both the Sicilian Mafia and Italian-American Mafia) for a ''made member'' of an Italian crime family who heads a "crew" of soldiers and has major social status and influence in the organization. Trevose, Pennsylvania
Trevose, also known as the TVO(tee,vee,oh) is a census-designated place within Lower Southampton Township, Pennsylvania. Trevose is located within both Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which is north of and borders northeastern Philadelphia. Trevose was formerly part of Feasterville-Trevose, but was split into two separate CDPs for the 2010 census. U.S. 1 runs through the town as well as the Pennsylvania Turnpike, but Trevose's main road is Brownsville Road, which is the dividing line between the two townships. Giovanni "John the Eagle" Riggi (February 1, 1925 – August 3, 2015) was a New Jersey mobster and member of the DeCavalcante crime family since the 1940s, before the family had acquired its name.
