The 1965 Gael Linn Cup, the most important representative competition for elite level participants in the women's team field sport of camogie, was won by Leinster, who defeated Ulster in the final, played at Casmeent Park Belfast. Arrangements Connacht offered little by way of resistance to a superior Ulster outfit at Castlebar and paid the heavy price of a 7–13 to 1–0 defeat. Maeve Gilroy is a former camogie player, winner of the Cuchulainn award in 1966 and of All Ireland medals in 1956 and 1967. Career Gilroy was already regarded as one of the country’s best playersIrish Independent July 6, 1955 page 9 when she scored two goals for Antrim against Dublin in the historic 1956 All Ireland semi-final, a match that prevented Dublin winning 19 All Ireland titles in a row. The Down County Board ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae An Dún) or Down GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Down, Northern Ireland. Angela Kennedy (born 28 February 1976) is an Australian former butterfly swimmer of the 1990s, who won a silver medal in the 4×100-metre medley relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Swimming career In 1994, Kennedy attended the NSW State Open Short-Course Championships in Sydney. She set a record in every 50m and 100m event in the program, achieving 11 records in total. Kennedy broke the world record in the 100m butterfly at the World Short-Course Swimming Championships in 1995, however was beaten in the event by fellow Australian Susie O'Neill (who took silver), and Liu Limin of China (who won gold). Úna O'Connor (1938 – 4 March 2020) was an Irish sportsperson who played senior camogie with Dublin from 1953 until 1975. Judy Doyle is a former camogie player who was one of the leading goalscorers of her generation, the scorer of three goals for Dublin against Tipperary in the 1961 All Ireland final, four goals for Dublin against Antrim in the 1964 All Ireland final and five goals for Dublin against Tipperary in the 1965 All Ireland final.
