Gabriel Bernal Vargas (5 February 1915 – 25 May 2010) was a Mexican cartoonist, whose comic strip ''La Familia Burrón'' was created in 1937. This cartoon has been described as one of the most important in Mexican popular culture. Vargas won Mexico's (National Journalism Prize) in 1983 and the "Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes en el área de Tradiciones Populares" ( National Sciences and Arts Prize) in 2003. Early life and education Gabriel Vargas was born in Tulancingo, Hidalgo, on February 5, 1915, and had 11 siblings. His father was a merchant and died when Gabriel was four years old. In 1922, his mother, Josefina Bernal, moved the family to Mexico City. Around 1928, Vargas began work as a draftsman for the ''Excélsior'' newspaper and eventually became its chief drawer by 1931 when he was sixteen. Gabriel Alejandro Vargas Venegas (born 8 December 1983), known as Gabriel Vargas, is a Chilean footballer, who currently plays as striker for Deportes Concepción in the Segunda División Profesional de Chile. Club career He began on the youth squad of Deportes Concepción and debuted in 2002. After he was released in 2005, he moved to Norway to work as a stevedor, at the same time he played for Norwegian Third Division club Andes IK. In 2006, he played for Puerto Montt. In 2007, Vargas played for Cobresal where he was one of the team's leading goal scorers for the year. In the 2007 Clausura tournament, Vargas scored 11 goals. In 2008, he moved to Universidad de Concepción. Then he moved to Universidad de Chile, to play 2010 Apertura and 2010 Copa Libertadores. Gabriel Jaime Alejandro Vargas Díaz (born 15 September 2000), often also referred to as Gabriel 'Toretico' Vargas is a venezuelan footballer who plays as a left winger. Career Club career Until Vargas was 13 years old, he was playing baseball, beside football. He is a product of Carabobo, where he went through the youth ranks of the club, all the way up to the first team, where he made his debut in a Venezuelan Primera División against Zulia FC on 23 February 2018. Gabriel Varga (born May 16, 1985) is a Canadian kickboxer who competes in the Lightweight division of Karate Combat. He is the former Bellator KB Featherweight champion, the former two time Glory Featherweight champion and the former WKN lightweight champion. A martial artist since his childhood, Varga started out in Shotokan karate and made the switch to kickboxing at seventeen. After becoming a Canadian, North American and two-time world champion during his amateur career, he turned professional in 2009 and won two more world championships in the pro ranks inside the space of seven months during 2011. Varga has since competed in the K-1, Glory, and Bellator Kickboxing promotions. In 2018 Gabriel started to upload videos to his YouTube channel.
