Gabriel Hjertstedt
Gabriel Hjertstedt (born 5 December 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. Hjertstedt was born in Umeå, Sweden. His family relocated to Australia when he was eleven and he learned to play golf there. He turned professional in 1990 and spent time on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Japan Golf Tour. He played on the European Tour from 1993 to 1996, where his best results were a pair of second places in 1994. In his 1997 rookie year on the U.S.-based PGA Tour he won the B.C. Open the same week that Europe won that year's Ryder Cup, to become the first Swede to win on the PGA Tour. He followed up in 1999 by claiming his second PGA Tour title at the Touchstone Energy Tucson Open. He represented Sweden in the Dunhill Cup in 1994 and 1999. Chris Perry (golfer)
James Christopher Perry (born September 27, 1961) is an American professional golfer. He has been featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking. Amateur career Perry was born in Edenton, North Carolina. He was the Minnesota high school golf champion in 1978, 1979 and 1980. Perry attended the Ohio State University, where he was a three-time All-America selection. He finished runner-up in the 1983 U.S. Amateur. Perry was named Collegiate Player of the Year in 1984. He also captured the 1983 Big Ten Championship. He won the 1982 and 1983 Minnesota State Amateur and 1984 Minnesota State Open. Professional career Perry turned pro in 1984. The 1999 Alfred Dunhill Cup was the 15th Alfred Dunhill Cup. It was a team tournament featuring 16 countries, each represented by three players. The Cup was played 7–10 October at the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The sponsor was the Alfred Dunhill company. St Andrews Trophy
The St Andrews Trophy is a biennial men's team golf tournament contested between teams of amateur golfers representing Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It takes its name from St Andrews in Scotland. It was first played in 1956 and takes place in even-numbered years; Great Britain & Ireland plays in the United States in the Walker Cup in odd-numbered years. It is staged alternately in Great Britain & Ireland and on the Continent, and is organised by The R&A (an offshoot of The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews) and the European Golf Association. 1990 Eisenhower Trophy
The 1990 Eisenhower Trophy took place 25 to 28 October at the Christchurch Golf Club near Christchurch, New Zealand. It was the 17th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 33 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. Sweden won the Eisenhower Trophy for the first time, finishing 13 strokes ahead of the joint silver medalists, New Zealand and United States with Canada, France and Japan tied for fourth place. Eisenhower Trophy
The Eisenhower Trophy (World Men's Amateur Team Championships) is the biennial World Amateur Team Championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. Since the tournament was first played in 1958, it is named after Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States at the time, who was a keen amateur golfer. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy. Results The 1958 championship resulted in a tie. There was an 18-hole playoff which Australia won with a score of 222 to the United States 224. From 1958 to 2000 the teams had four players with the best three scores counting for each round. The Jacques Léglise Trophy is an annual amateur boys' team golf competition between Great Britain & Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1977, as a one-day match before the Boys Amateur Championship, but since 1996 it has been played as a separate two-day match. The venue generally alternates between Great Britain and Ireland and the continent.
