Gabriel Hill
Gabriel Hill is the summit of Half Moon Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is a rocky hill rising to 101 m in the island's northwest extremity and surmounting Moon Bay to the west and Menguante Cove to the southeast. The area was visited by early 19th century sealers operating from nearby Yankee Harbour. The feature's name appeared in a 2000 publication following Argentine ornithological research on the island, and in the 2005 and 2009 Bulgarian maps of Livingston Island. Livingston Island
Livingston Island (Russian name ''Smolensk'', ) is an Antarctic island in the Southern Ocean, part of the South Shetlands Archipelago, a group of Antarctic islands north of the Antarctic Peninsula. It was the first land discovered south of 60° south latitude in 1819, a historic event that marked the end of a centuries-long pursuit of the mythical ''Terra Australis Incognita'' and the beginning of the exploration and utilization of real Antarctica. The name Livingston, although of unknown derivation, has been well established in international usage since the early 1820s. Edinburgh Hill is a narrow point projecting 650 m from the east coast of Varna Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica into McFarlane Strait and ending up in a conspicuous rocky hill of elevation 180 m. Sindel Point
Sindel Point ( bg, нос Синдел, ‘Nos Sindel’ \'nos 'sin-del\) is a low ice-free point on the east coast of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica projecting 250 m into Moon Bay to separate the glacier termini of Kaliakra Glacier to the north and Struma Glacier to the south. Sliven Peak
Sliven Peak ( bg, връх Сливен, vrah Sliven, ) rises to 530 m in the east extremity of Melnik Ridge, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. The peak has precipitous rocky southern slopes and partly ice-free northern slopes, overlooking Kaliakra Glacier to the northwest and Struma Glacier to the south and east. The feature is named after the Bulgarian town of Sliven. La Morenita (Antarctica)
La Morenita is a conspicuous rocky hill rising to 93 m in the southwest extremity of Half Moon Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It surmounts the Argentine Antarctic base Cámara situated in its northern foothills, Menguante Cove to the northeast and Mugla Passage to the south. The area was visited by early 19th century sealers operating from nearby Yankee Harbour. The feature's name is descriptive. Spanish for "the brown one", the hill is named for the colour of the local volcanic rocks. It appeared in a 2000 publication following Argentine ornithological research on the island, and in the 2005 and 2009 Bulgarian maps of Livingston Island. Yankee Harbour
Yankee Harbour is a small inner harbour entered from Shopski Cove between Glacier Bluff and Spit Point, indenting the south-west side of Greenwich Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It is long in west-south-west to east-north-east direction, and wide, and is bounded by Provadiya Hook to the south-west, Parvomay Neck to the north and east, and Kladara Beach to the south. History Yankee Harbour was known to both American sealers and the British (who called it ''Hospital Cove'') as early as 1820, and this name is now established in international usage.
