Gabrielle "Gabby" Newton (born 31 August 2001) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for Western Bulldogs in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was the Rising Star nominee in round 4 of 2020. Newton was named in the team's best 4 times in the 6 games she played in the 2020 AFL Women's season, with her collecting career high amounts of disposals in rounds 4 and 6. She received 1 best and fairest vote for her performance in round 4 of the 2020 season. It was revealed that Newton had signed a contract extension with the club on 16 June 2021, after playing every game possible for the club that season. Northern Knights
The Northern Knights is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based in Preston, representing the northern suburban area of Melbourne. The Knights are one of the six original clubs set up as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft, which allows U18 players the opportunity to be selected by AFL clubs. The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. 2021 AFL Women's Season
The 2021 AFL Women's season was the fifth season of the AFL Women's competition, the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia. The season featured fourteen clubs, ran from 28 January until 17 April, and comprised a 9-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top six clubs. The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia.
