''Global Underground 012: Dave Seaman, Buenos Aires'' is a DJ mix album in the Global Underground series, compiled and mixed by Dave Seaman. The mix is a retrospective look at a set at the Pacha club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dave Seaman arrives for the first of what turns out to be string of GU City releases spanning subsequent years. When asked which city he'd like to base it around, without hesitation he plumps for the burgeoning clubbing destination of Argentina’s capital, a place where the crowds are famously wild, vocal and like to stay packing out the floor until the final record has finished. This mix takes in classics of the day like Underworld’s ‘Jumbo’ and Polaroid’s ‘So Damn Beautiful’ combined with some serious underground cuts for a fully rounded example of why Dave had risen to become one of the most in-demand spinners on the planet. Dave Seaman
Dave Seaman (born 29 April 1968) is a British DJ and record producer. He was formerly a member of the Disco Mix Club, DMC Publishing, and editor of music magazine ''Mixmag''. Biography He formed Brothers in Rhythm with Steve Anderson (musician), Steve Anderson and they were later joined by Alan Bremner, doing production work for (amongst others) Pet Shop Boys and Kylie Minogue and remixes for David Bowie, New Order (band), New Order, U2, Michael Jackson and more. He has since founded Audio Therapy record label and now runs Selador Recordings with Steve Parry. He is also well known for his releases in the famed Renaissance (club), Renaissance Masters Series and a number of releases for Global Underground. Timo Maas
Timo Maas (born July 27, 1969, Bückeburg, West Germany) is a German DJ/ producer and remixer whose career in electronic music spans well over 30 years. His remix of Azzido Da Bass's single "Dooms Night" helped launch his career in 2000. In its wake, he also released ''Music for the Maases Volume 1'', a mix album consisting of many of his previous tracks and remixes. After another mix album called ''Connected'' for Paul Oakenfold's imprint Perfecto, Maas released his own debut studio album ''Loud'' in 2002. The album was produced by German dance music producer Martin Buttrich (also known for his work with Loco Dice), and featured guest appearances from Kelis, Neneh Cherry and Placebo's Brian Molko. Proper Filthy Naughty is a musical production duo consisting of John Ross and Joe Williams, who have also worked under the names Salamander and The Light. They have had releases on Platipus Records, FFRR, and Hooj Choons. Redshift (music)
Redshift is a British electronic music group, founded in 1996 by Mark Shreeve. Their musical style is rooted in the early to mid 1970s German electronic music era, often described as Berlin School, and transcends the genre using musical originality, multi-instrumentation, and complex harmonic arrangements using analogue sequencing. Their pieces are described as both exciting and haunting in equal measure, expressing strong central themes, and include contrasting atmospheres of rich sonic textures. Redshift music has been played on BBC TV and some listeners have likened certain pieces to film score, neo-industrial, as well as dark ambient. Adam Paul Tinley (born 4 December 1967), known professionally as Adamski, as well as Sonny Eriksson, is an English DJ, musician, singer and record producer, prominent at the time of acid house for his tracks " N-R-G" and "Killer", a collaboration with Seal, which was a No. 1 song in the UK in 1990. Career Tinley was born in Lymington, Hampshire, England. As a youngster, influenced by punk rock and John Peel, he formed his first band The Stupid Babies when he was 11 and living in New Forest in England. "So Damn Beautiful" is the debut single from British singer-songwriter Poloroid, real name Danielle Rowe. It was released on 29 September 2003 in the UK, and peaked at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the UK Dance Chart. Background "So Damn Beautiful" was written by Rowe with two former bandmates, Lee Milleare and John Horrocks. It was first brought to the attention of nightclubs after British disc jockey Dave Seaman included it on the mix album '' Global Underground 012: Bueno Aires'' in 1999. Because of this attention for the song, Rowe was invited to perform a live set for BBC Radio 1 in Ibiza. Poloroid is a former stage name of Essex-born singer-songwriter Danielle "Dan" Rowe, best known for her 2003 single " So Damn Beautiful". Originally referring to a trio, the name "Poloroid" was adopted by Rowe for her solo material in 2001, following the death of her bandmate John Horrocks.
