Gamlakarleby Segelförening
Gamlakarleby Segelförening (abbreviation GSF) is a yacht club in Kokkola, Finland. GSF was established on 27 February 1872, becoming Finland's 4th oldest yacht club after Segelföreningen i Björneborg, BSF in Pori (1856), Nyländska Jaktklubben, NJK in Helsinki (1861) and Airisto Segelsällskap i Åbo, ASS in Turku. The club hosted the 1975 Vieri Lasinio Di Castelvero Trophy, Snipe World Junior Championship, which was won by GSF's sailors Heikki Haimakainen and Timo Karlsson, and the 1992 European Championship. The generic sensor format (GSF) is a file format used for storing bathymetry data, such as that gathered by a multibeam echosounder. The format was created by Scott Ferguson and Daniel A. Chayes. The file format specifications and C source code for a library to read and write GSF files are available from Leidos, who maintain both the format specification and the source code. The GSF library source code is published under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1. The Genoa Social Forum is a coalition of movements, political parties and societies opposed to capitalist globalisation. It was created in 2000, a year before the scheduled 27th G8 summit in Genoa in 2001, and included several associations - and hundreds of smaller ones - largely but not solely from Italy. Although it made several requests to meet the institutional representatives, as a forerunner of a counter-forum, on June 24, 2001 they were met by police chief Gianni De Gennaro. Georgia Southern And Florida Railway
The Georgia Southern and Florida Railway , also known as the ''Suwanee River Route'' from its crossing of the Suwanee River, was founded in 1885 as the Georgia Southern and Florida ''Railroad'' and began operations between Macon, GA and Valdosta, GA in 1889, extending to Palatka, FL in 1890. The railroad went bankrupt by 1891, was reorganized as the Georgia Southern and Florida ''Railway'' in 1895, and was controlled by the Southern Railway. In 1902, the GS&F purchased the Atlantic, Valdosta and Western Railway that ran from Valdosta, GA to Jacksonville, FL. The GS&F also owned the Macon and Birmingham Railway and the Hawkinsville and Florida Southern Railway, both of which were operated as separate companies; both ended up going bankrupt and being mostly abandoned. The GS&F was eventually acquired by the Norfolk Southern Railway and still operates as a subsidiary. Glasgow Science Festival (GSF) is a science festival held every June in Glasgow, Scotland. It was founded in 2007 and provides science-themed events for children, schools and adults at various venues in the city, including lecture theatres, laboratories, cafes, pubs, theatres and cinemas. The majority of events are free of charge to promote accessibility and events are developed primarily with practicing scientists in order to showcase real research. The Grand Slam Force is a bidding convention in contract bridge that was developed by Ely Culbertson in 1936. It is intended to be used in cases where the combined hands of a partnership are so strong that a slam (winning at least 12 tricks) is a near-certainty and a grand slam (winning all 13 tricks) is a possibility. It enables a player to gain information about the quality of the top trumps held by his partner (i.e., which of the ace, king or queen).
