Glades (band)
Glades are an Australian electronica indie pop band composed of vocalist/guitarist Karina Savage and multi-instrumentalist producers Cameron Robertson and Joseph Wenceslao. The trio met at William Clarke College in Kellyville, New South Wales and formed Glades in 2015. The band's name comes from a ski run band member Robertson saw on during a holiday in the snow. Career In 2015, the band uploaded a cover of fellow Australian Troye Sivan's "Fools" on SoundCloud and received an early endorsement from Sivan himself. The band signed to EMI Australia in 2016 and in October, following the success of their breakthrough single "Drive," which has since accumulated 40 million streams, released their debut extended play, ''This is What It's Like''. Glade Interface Designer is a graphical user interface builder for GTK, with additional components for GNOME. In its third version, Glade is programming language–independent, and does not produce code for events, but rather an XML file that is then used with an appropriate binding (such as GtkAda for use with the Ada (programming language), Ada programming language). Glade Festival
Glade Festival was an electronic dance music festival, founded by Nick Ladd and Ans Guise, which originally started out as Glastonbury Festival's Glade Stage, which was established by Luke Piper and Mark Parsons who also became founding partners in Glade Festival itself. Exeter breakbeat promoter Biff Mitchell also played an important role in the event's development. The annual festival took place for the first time over four days in the summer of 2004, attracting 22,500 people by 2007. The festival's home for the first five years was the Wasing Estate, in Berkshire. In 2009 it was held in Winchester, and in 2011 and 2012 its location was at Houghton Hall in Norfolk. The festival was cancelled in 2013, it did not reappear as was planned in 2014, however the Glade Stage at the main Glastonbury festival continues. Glade (geography)
In the most general sense, a glade or clearing is an open area within a forest. Glades are often grassy meadows under the canopy of deciduous trees such as red alder or quaking aspen in western North America. They also represent openings in forests where local conditions such as avalanches, poor soils, or fire damage have created semipermanent clearings. They are very important to herbivorous animals, such as deer and elk, for forage and denning activities. Sometimes the word is used in a looser sense, as in the treeless wetlands of the Everglades of Florida. In the central United States, calcareous glades occur with rocky, prairie-like habitats in areas of shallow soil. Glade Skiing
Glade skiing (also known as glading) is alpine skiing through trees off-trail or on a defined woods trail. Glades are variously sought for their solitude, beauty, or caches of ungroomed powder. Woods also tend to hold better snow longer thanks to the shade and shelter trees provide. Glade skiing is inherently more dangerous than skiing on trails and usually reserved for experts, though moderate glade terrain exists. Hazards such as cliffs or streams may or may not be blocked off by ski patrol. Other dangers include tree wells, logs, stumps, and the trees themselves. Equipment required includes a ski helmet, ski goggles, and gloves, all to protect against the trees and underbrush. The Glades (Florida)

Glades Wildlife Refuge, also known as The Glades, is in Newport, New Jersey along the Delaware Bay. Owned by Natural Lands, this nature preserve is a landscape of tidal marshes, wooded uplands, beaches along the Delaware Bay, and an old growth forest. Glades Wildlife Refuge open from dawn till dusk daily and is publicly accessible at several points. Several of these points are part of New Jersey's Coastal Heritage Route.
