Gymnastics At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's Trampoline
The Men's trampoline competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held at the HSBC Arena. The medals were presented by Barbara Kendall IOC member, New Zealand and Horst Kunze, FIG Trampoline Technical Committee President. Competition format The competition had rounds: qualification and final. In qualification, the gymnasts performed two routines: compulsory and voluntary. Scores for the two were summed, and the best eight gymnasts moved on to the final. The final consisted of a single routine, with qualification scores not carrying over. Qualification The gymnasts who ranked top eight qualified for final round. In case of there were more than two gymnasts in same NOC, the last ranked among them would not qualify to final round. The next best ranked gymnast would qualify instead. Jeunesse Arena is an indoor multi-purpose arena, located in the region of Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Masaki Ito
is a Japanese citizen and trampoline gymnast, representing his nation at international competitions. At the age of four Ito began to learn swimming and gymnastics, including artistic gymnastics and trampoline, but by the age of six, following the advice of his instructor, began to focus on the trampoline. Gymnastics at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held in three categories: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. Jason Nicholas Burnett (born December 16, 1986) is a Canadian trampoline gymnast from Etobicoke, Ontario. He is noted for having completed, in training, the world's most difficult trampoline routine with a degree of difficulty of 20.6 and holding the world record of 18.8 for a routine performed in a competition. He has placed first in the Canadian National Championships eight times in individual trampoline. In the 2008 Olympic Games he won a silver medal.
