Indira Gandhi Arena
The K. D. Jadhav Indoor Hall, formerly known as the Indraprashtha Stadium and Indira Gandhi Arena (officially Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium), is located at the Indraprastha Estate in the eastern region of New Delhi. It is the largest indoor arena, indoor sports arena in India and among the largest in Asia. The multi-purpose arena is regularly used by tennis club Indian Aces and DSA Senior Division Futsal League. History Built by the Government of India in 1982 in order to host the indoor games events in the 1982 Asian Games, the arena's grounds cover an area of . Since its construction, the arena hosted a number of other tournaments as well. The facility seats 14,348 people and is named after former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. Thomas Pichler
Thomas Pichler (born 18 September 1986) is an Australian former artistic gymnast. Born in Austria, Pichler suffered from health problems as a child which resulted in his family moving to Australia in search of a warmer climate. He grew up in Brisbane, Queensland. Pichler was out of action in 2009 due to a knee reconstruction but returned in 2010 to claim two gold medals at the Delhi Commonwealth Games, for the floor and team all-around events. Reiss Beckford
Reiss Beckford (born 17 February 1992) is a Jamaican gymnast. Prior to 2015, Beckford, from Enfield, London, competed for England and Great Britain. In October 2010 he was part of the team which won the silver medal for England in the gymnastics in the men's artistic all-around team event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He also won the silver medal in the men's individual all-around event and a silver medal in the men's floor event at the same games. Born in England with a Jamaican father, Beckford announced his decision to switch allegiance to Jamaica, a move considered likely to increase his chances of qualification for the Olympic Games in Rio in 2016. Beckford competed at the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow. He and his two teammates were the first Jamaican men to do this. Ashish Kumar (born 1990) is an Indian gymnast from Allahabad, who won India's first-ever medals in gymnastics, in October 2010 at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and became the most successful Indian gymnast in Commonwealth Games history, by winning bronze and silver medals in different gymnastic events. Competitive history 2006 Kumar first participated at the 2006 Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships staged in Surat, India. He won the bronze medal on the Floor Exercise, tied with Syrian gymnast Fadi Bahlawan. This was India's first major international medal in the history of artistic gymnastics.
