Gymnastics At The 2000 Summer Olympics – Men's Floor
Men's floor was one of eight events for male competitors in artistic gymnastics at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. The qualification round took place on September 17, with 76 gymnasts taking part. The eight highest scoring gymnasts competed in the final on September 24 at the Sydney SuperDome. The event was won by Igors Vihrovs, becoming the first Olympic gold medalist for independent Latvia. Gymnastics At The 2000 Summer Olympics
At the 2000 Summer Olympics, three different gymnastics disciplines were contested: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, and trampoline. The artistic gymnastics and trampoline events were held at the Sydney SuperDome on 16–25 September and 22–23 September, respectively. Marian Drăgulescu (born 18 December 1980 in Bucharest) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast. Li Xiaopeng (; July 27, 1981 in Changsha, Hunan) is a male Chinese gymnast, who specializes in parallel bars and vault. He currently holds 16 world titles, more than any other gymnast in China. Yang Wei (; born February 8, 1980, in Xiantao, Hubei) is a male gymnast from China. Career Yang Wei won the silver medal in the individual all-around competition and won the gold in the team event at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. In 2003, he again won the gold in the team event and silver in the all-around competition at the 2003 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Anaheim. At the 2004 Olympics in Athens, his world championship winning team finished fifth after many of them fell. The Sydney SuperDome (currently known as the Qudos Bank Arena) is a large multipurpose arena located in Sydney, Australia.
