Gurren Lagann Parallel Works
This is a list of episodes of ''Gurren Lagann'', a Japanese anime series produced by Gainax and directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi. The anime premiered on the TV Tokyo and other TXN stations on April 1, 2007 containing twenty-seven episodes. The English version began to air on Sci-Fi's Ani-Monday block, airing two episodes a week, starting July 28, 2008. The English version also began airing on Animax across its English-language networks in Southeast Asia and South Asia, starting on May 22, 2009. In Canada, it airs on Super Channel. Each episode's title is derived from a line spoken by a specific character from the series: the titles from episodes 1 through 8 are spoken by Kamina, episodes 9 through 15 by Nia, the preview for episode 16 by Viral, episodes 17 through 22 by Rossiu, and episodes 23 through 27 by Simon. TX Network
TX Network (TXN) is a commercial television network in Japan owned by Nikkei, Inc. The "TX" is taken from the callsign of its flagship station, TV Tokyo. It is also known as TV Tokyo Network. History Tokyo Channel 12 almost went into bankruptcy in 1968. At the time, a television production company was established, with two companies, business newspaper '' Nihon Keizai Shimbun'' and the Mainichi Broadcasting System having a central role in the investment. At this time, MBS was affiliated to NET TV (now TV Asahi), which carried out a "key station declaration" at the request of Nikkei, in the form of cross-networking with Tokyo Channel 12 and NET, in October 1969. Clip Show
A clip show is an episode of a television series that consists primarily of excerpts from previous episodes. Most clip shows feature the format of a frame story in which cast members recall past events from past installments of the show, depicted with a clip of the event presented as a flashback. Clip shows are also known as cheaters, particularly in the field of animation. Clip shows are often played before series finales as a way to summarize the entire series, or once syndication becomes highly likely as a way to increase the number of episodes that can be sold. Gekidan Inu Curry
, stylized as gekidan INU CURRY, is an animation troupe consisting of ex- Gainax animator under the name and ex-TANTO 2D painter under the name . They are known for their production design works in the '' Puella Magi Madoka Magica'' series, as well as creating the ending credits sequence for ''Maria Holic'' and ''Usagi Drop''. They also regularly contribute illustrations to Maaya Sakamoto's Manpukuron column in Newtype Magazine. Doroinu directed and wrote the '' Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story'' anime, which began airing in January 2020. Artistic style Doroinu and 2shiroinu of Gekidan Inu Curry describe their works as inspired by both Russian and Czech animation styles. Yoh Yoshinari
is a Japanese key animator, storyboard artist, and anime director. Biography Yoshinari was born in Tokyo on May 6, 1971. He graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College. Career Yoshinari entered the anime industry through the influence of his older brother, Kou Yoshinari. Several of his early works were uncredited second key animation and in-betweens for his brother during high school. After leaving professional school, he applied to Gainax and Madhouse. Not receiving a response from Gainax, he joined Madhouse. Due to a misunderstanding, Gainax failed to process his application until three months later. Not wanting to explain, Yoshinari told Madhouse "being an animator is too hard for me", and switched to Gainax. Hiroyuki Yamaga
is a Japanese anime director and producer, and a founding member of the animation studio Gainax. He is best known for directing the film '' Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise'' (1987) at age 24, directing ''Mahoromatic'' (2001), ''Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi'' (2002), and an episode of ''Gurren Lagann'' (2007). Yamaga also wrote the screenplay for '' Gundam 0080'' (1989). Steampunk
Steampunk is a subgenre of science fiction that incorporates retrofuturistic technology and aesthetics inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery. Pachinko
is a mechanical game originating in Japan that is used as an arcade game, and much more frequently for gambling. Pachinko fills a niche in Japanese gambling comparable to that of the slot machine in the West as a form of low-stakes, low-strategy gambling. Pachinko parlors are widespread in Japan, and usually also feature a number of slot machines (called ''pachislo'' or pachislots) so these venues look and operate similarly to casinos. Modern pachinko machines have both mechanical and digital components. Gambling for cash is illegal in Japan, but the widespread popularity of low-stakes pachinko in Japanese society has enabled a specific legal loophole allowing it to exist.
