Guardianes 2020 Liga MX Final Phase
The Torneo Guardianes 2020 (stylized as Guard1anes) Liga MX final phase was played between 21 November 2020 to 13 December 2020. A total of 12 teams competed in the final phase to decide the champions of the Guardianes 2020 Liga MX season. For the first time since the Clausura 2008 season, an additional qualifying round, the reclassification or ''repechaje'', was employed, expanding the number of playoff spots from eight to 12. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico, all matches of the final phase, except for the first leg of the quarter-final between Guadalajara and América, were played behind closed doors. Apertura 2019 Liga MX Final Phase
The 2019–20 Liga MX season#Torneo Apertura, Apertura 2019 Liga MX championship stage commonly known as ''Liguilla'' (mini league) was played from 27 November 2019 to 29 December 2019. Due to finalist C.F. Monterrey, Monterrey participating in the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup, the final was postponed to 29 December from 15 December. Club Santos Laguna S.A. de C.V. (), commonly known as Santos Laguna or Santos, is a Mexican professional football club that competes in the Liga MX. It is located in northern Mexico and represents the urban area of La Comarca Lagunera, made up of the surrounding municipalities of Torreón, Gómez Palacio , Lerdo and Matamoros . Óscar Fabián Murillo Murillo (born 18 April 1988) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. Club career Murillo began his career in the youth system of famed Argentinian side Boca Juniors. In 2007, he returned to Colombia to play for second division side Centauros Villavicencio. In 2008, he joined his hometown side Deportes Quindío and became a regular starter. His play with Quindío led to interest from foreign sides, particularly from Major League Soccer. Víctor Alfonso Guzmán Guzmán (born 3 February 1995), also known as Pocho, is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga MX club Guadalajara. Club career Pachuca Guzmán joined Guadalajara's youth academy in 2012. In June 2015, it was announced Guzmán was sent out on loan to Pachuca for one year. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. The 2015–16 Liga MX season (known as the Liga BBVA Bancomer MX for sponsorship reasons) was the 69th professional season of the top-flight football league in Mexico.
