Guangzhou–Qingyuan Intercity Railway
Guangzhou–Qingyuan intercity railway, also known as the Guangqing intercity railway, is a regional rail within Guangdong province, China. It will connect the provincial capital Guangzhou with Qingyuan. It is a part of the Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region intercity railway system. It will be built with an operating top speed of 200 km/h. The second phase, from Huadu to Guangzhou station, is currently under construction. History The railway was opened on November 30 2020. Route Starting at Guangzhou railway station, a high-speed railway will be built alongside the Beijing–Guangzhou railway within the city to Guangzhou North railway station. From there to Qingyuan railway station, this railway will run alongside the Wuhan–Guangzhou high-speed railway with separate platforms for each railway and three new regional stations being built in between these stations. Regional rail, also known as local trains and stopping trains, are passenger rail services that operate between towns and cities. Qingyuan
Qingyuan, formerly romanized as Tsingyun, is a prefecture-level city in northern Guangdong province, China, on the banks of the Bei or North River. During the 2020 census, its total population was 3,969,473, out of whom 1,738,424 lived in the built-up (or metro) area made of urbanized Qingcheng and Qingxin districts. Shanwei
Shanwei (), or Swabue is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guangdong province, People's Republic of China. It borders Jieyang to the east, Meizhou and Heyuan to the north, Huizhou to the west, and looks out to the South China Sea to the south. Shenzhen–Shanwei High-speed Railway
The Shenzhen–Shanwei high-speed railway is a high-speed railway currently under construction in Guangdong, China. It is long and has a design speed of . It is expected to open in 2025. This railway, combined with the Guangzhou–Shanwei high-speed railway between Shenshan and Shanwei, will provide a faster route between Shanwei and Shenzhen Pingshan than the existing Xiamen–Shenzhen railway. Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region Intercity Railway
The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region Intercity Railway System (, abbreviated as PRDIR) is a regional higher-speed rail and suburban rail network being gradually constructed in the Pearl River Delta ( Yuegang'ao Greater Bay Area), People's Republic of China. The project's goal is to have every major urban center in the Yuegang'ao Greater Bay Area to be within one-hour travel by rail to Guangzhou. On March 16, 2005, the State Council approved plans for a regional high-speed commuter rail network for the Jingjinji, Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta.
