Guam Women's National Football Team
The Guam women's national football team is the female representative football team for Guam. History Guam took part in the 2003 South Pacific Games in Suva, Fiji, finishing second. The team competes regularly in the EAFF E-1 Football Championship. The team first played in the tournament's preliminary competition in 2007 against round winners South Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Hong Kong. Guam, officially nicknamed "Masakåda" (meaning "brave woman" in Chamorro), played in the preliminary round of the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup, losing to Northern Mariana Islands and Hong Kong. In the 2015 EAFF East Asian Cup, Guam qualified to Preliminary round 2 after defeating Northern Mariana Islands 7–0 and Macau 11–0, Guam's biggest victory to date. Guam's Samantha Kaufman won Tournament MVP honors and teammate Paige Surber won the Tournament Golden Boot Award. EAFF E-1 Football Championship (women)
EAFF E-1 Football Championship is an international football competition in East Asia for national teams of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF). The competition between women's national teams is held alongside men's competition. History In 2005 there was also a combined points competition in 2005, where the results of the men's and women's teams were added together (not including qualifiers). In April 2012, the competition was renamed to the "EAFF East Asian Cup". In December 2015, the new competition name "EAFF East Asian Championship" was approved, but later changed to "EAFF E-1 Football Championship". Results Played in odd years. A sports coach is a person coaching in sport, involved in the direction, instruction and training of a sports team or athlete. Hagåtña, Guam
Hagåtña (; ; formerly in English: Agana , in Spanish: Agaña) is the capital village of the United States territory of Guam. From the 18th through mid-20th century, it was Guam's population center, but today it is the second smallest of the island's 19 villages in both area and population. However, it remains one of the island's major commercial districts in addition to being the seat of government. Etymology "Hagåt" (also romanized as ''haga, with a glottal stop instead of a syllable-final "t") means "blood" in the Chamorro language. The 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship was the seventh edition of the women's tournament of the EAFF E-1 Football Championship, the women's football championship of East Asia. It was held in South Korea in December 2019. Chamorro Language
Chamorro (; ch, Finuʼ Chamorro, links=no (CNMI), (Guam)) is an Austronesian language spoken by about 58,000 people (about 25,800 people on Guam and about 32,200 in the rest of the Mariana Islands and elsewhere). It is the native and spoken language of the Chamorro people, the indigenous people of the Marianas (Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Guam is a US territory while the CNMI has greater autonomy as a US commonwealth).
