Grey's Anatomy Season 5
The fifth season of the American television medical drama '' Grey's Anatomy'', created by Shonda Rhimes, commenced airing on American Broadcasting Company (ABC) in the United States on September 25, 2008 and concluded on May 14, 2009 with 24 aired episodes. The season follows the story of a group of surgeons as they go through their residency, while they also deal with the personal challenges and relationships with their mentors. Season 5 had 13 series regulars with 12 of them returning from the previous season, out of which 8 are part of the original cast. The season aired in the Thursday night time-slot at 9:00 pm. Krista Vernoff
Krista Vernoff (born October 25, 1971) is an American television screenwriter, executive producer and director. She is best known for running the television medical drama ''Grey's Anatomy'' (2007–11, 2017–present) and its spin-off ''Station 19'' (2019–present). She has also served as executive producer and writer for the US version of '' Shameless''. Other works as producer-writer for television include ''Charmed'' and ''Wonderfalls''. Vernoff earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for ''Grey's Anatomy''; two as a producer for the show's Best Drama Series nominations in 2006 and 2007 which were won and one personal Emmy nomination in 2006 for Best Drama Writing for her episode “ Into You Like a Train”, an episode that was highly acclaimed years after its initial airing and hailed as the show's best single episode by ''The A.V. Melissa George
Melissa George (born 6 August 1976) is an Australian actress and entrepreneur. A former national artistic rollerskating champion and model, George began her acting career playing Angel Parrish in the Australian soap opera Home and Away (1993–1996). Erica Hahn, M.D., F.A.C.S is a fictional character from the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) medical drama television series ''Grey's Anatomy'', portrayed by actress Brooke Smith.
