Greve Municipality
Greve Municipality is a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') about 21 km south-west of Copenhagen in Region Sjælland on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 60 km², and has a total population of 47,773 (2008). The site of its municipal council is the town of Greve Strand. It serves primarily as a residential municipality, functioning as a suburb for the larger Copenhagen area. History Until the 1960s the area was primarily agricultural, and most businesses in town were concentrated along the coastal road "Strandvejen". With numerous holiday cottages near the coast of ''Køge Bugt'' (Køge Bay), this was also the destination for many inhabitants of Copenhagen on holiday away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Shopping Mall
A shopping mall (or simply mall) is a North American term for a large indoor shopping center, usually anchored by department stores. Karlslunde
Karlslunde is a suburb 25 km (16 mi) south-west of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The suburb is a part of Greve municipality. Karlslunde is generally divided into Karlslunde Landsby and Karlslunde Strand split by Karlslunde Landevej (Taastrupvejen). The suburb is connected with the S-train network lines A and E. The city has quite a rich history, as the viking Svend-Grate fought a vital battle against the Vends in Karlslunde in the year of 1153. Karlslunde was also part of Tunestillingen which was a defensive line to protect Copenhagen against a possible attack from the germans under World War I. Mosede Fort (also in Karlslunde) is an old fort which was a key part of this defensive line. Mosede Fort also has a very interesting interactive museum where you can learn more about Tunestillingen and the central role Karlslunde played in it. Hundige Station
Hundige station is a station on the Køge radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated close to the WAVES shopping center. Hundige station opened along with the extension of the Køge radial from Vallensbæk station to Hundige in 1976: Since then, it has been the terminus of the S-train service A, and a stop on all other lines on the Køge radial. Hundige station is however now only an occasional terminus for service A, since in the daytime on weekdays, every second train in the service continues to Solrød Strand station. Hundige station is a hub for public transportation in its area; right next to the platforms and tracks, is an array of designated bus stops for each of several bus lines serving the area, a pick-up and drop-off zone for taxis and private vehicles, and a parking lot. Greve Station
Greve station is on the Køge radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the middle of three stations in the urbanized coastal end of Greve municipality, and serves the mainly residential areas ''Greve'' and ''Mosede''. In this area, the twin railroad sits on a ridge raised above the surrounding terrain. Greve station has a single platform between the two tracks, running in a south-western to north-eastern direction. The platform can be accessed via staircases at both ends, but facilities such as the elevator, automatic ticket machines, the adjacent convenience store and bus stops are "concentrated" at the south-western end. Likewise, the "short" S-Trains (4 carriages rather than 8, used outside rush hours) also stop at this end of the platform. In 2016 a construction project began at Greve station.
