Greg Tebbutt (golfer)
Gregory A. "Truck" Tebbutt (May 11, 1957 – December 17, 2021) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played 26 games in the National Hockey League with the Quebec Nordiques and Pittsburgh Penguins during the 1979–80 and 1983–84 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1978 to 1988, was spent in the minor leagues. A defenceman, he was a rugged enforcer in his own end who also put up solid offensive numbers in junior and the minors. Life and playing career Born in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Tebbutt played junior with the Victoria Cougars, Flin Flon Bombers and Regina Pats in the WCJHL, from 1975 to 1978. He was drafted 130th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in 1977. After scoring 28 goals for the Flin Flon Bombers in 1977-78, Tebbutt split the next year between the Binghamton Dusters and the World Hockey Association (WHA) Birmingham Bulls. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). They were once called cover-point. In regular play, two defencemen complement three Forward (ice hockey), forwards and a goaltender on the ice. Exceptions include Overtime (ice hockey), overtime during the regular season and when a team is Short-handed, shorthanded (i.e. has been assessed a penalty), in which two defencemen are typically joined by only two forwards and a goaltender. Baltimore Skipjacks
The Baltimore Skipjacks were a minor league professional ice hockey team from Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The Skipjacks originated in 1979, and played as the Baltimore Clippers in the Eastern Hockey League for two seasons. The team was renamed to Skipjacks in 1981, and played the following season in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League. The Skipjacks then played eleven seasons as members of the American Hockey League (AHL), from 1982 until 1993. The Skipjacks were one of three AHL teams to have been based in Baltimore, including the Baltimore Clippers, and the Baltimore Bandits. The Skipjacks operated as a farm team to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals for five seasons each, and were previously a farm team to the Minnesota North Stars for two seasons, the Boston Bruins for one season.
